Removing half shafts and diff carrier help

Could anybody talk me through removing the above from my English axle ?

TAKE DRUM OFF,  UNDO  4  13MM  BOLTS      HOLDING BACKING PLATE  ,BEST WAY IS CONNECT SLIDE HAMMER TO DRIVE SHAFT .  OR  BOLT DRUM ON OTHER WAY ROUND,AND USE COPPER HAMMER

or stick an old steel wheel on and give that a few slaps with the sledge
