Admin Vista Posted November 29, 2014 Admin Report Posted November 29, 2014 Mk1 Escort? That's not a UK VIN number so may be an imported car
MrWattsey Posted November 29, 2014 Author Report Posted November 29, 2014 Apparently it's come from Malta but I can't find any info on nom UK codes??
Admin Vista Posted November 29, 2014 Admin Report Posted November 29, 2014 sorry, I can't help on this one as I don't know where Maltese cars were built in the first place. We do have a few Maltese members who may be able to help but what info is it you're looking for?
fefu17 Posted November 29, 2014 Report Posted November 29, 2014 Maltese cars should have the same VIN as UK cars. Both my mk1 and mk2 escorts have the usual VIN with 11 characters, starting with BB (Halewood) and the last 5 digits which should match the engine number. IMO, that's not an escort VIN.

I thought that would be the case as Maltese Escorts were built in the UK weren't they? Dunno, South African / Australian built car maybe? Or have they perhaps quoted the body plate no instead of the chassis no? Not so familiar with the layout of those
