Bry with a y Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 I have now got the mk1 running good and stopping good..The little 1.1 is ticking like a clock and I'm in two minds whether to bring to show untouched as I found her or carry on with getting front seat padded back like new,and front carpets need changing. Slight bubbles on headlight and little stone chip on door and tidy engine bay up..Things I will do but do I just bring her out after a good clean and Polish? I do want people to see her like I found her and get some good advice off u guys at the shows but what's best to do in your opinion? Cheers
escamino Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 If it were me, I would just get used to having it. Don't rush in to making changes you may regret later. Get all your ideas together and make a plan for the car.
meXEco Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 I got mine running sweet, renewed all the brake drums and used her as a daily for 2 years without missing a beat. Got loads of attention and nice comments. Just keep her stock while fixing or replacing as needed. Mines been laid up a few years now just waiting for my man to sort some welding and a few other bits and bobs (all steel twink and tranx box,big header rad, remote servo etc.) but not painting as I like the worn look plus can't afford to lol! Mines a Jan '68 so am doing period semi twincam mods so should be sweet when done.
