  16. The easyest way to relocate the indicators as they are in the bumper, is to cut the section out of the bumper, trim it to size and weld it where you want.
  17. Thought it was about time I did this. So the story started way back in 1993. The car was originally bought by my brother Phil (over_head_cam) as a daily workhorse. The original spec was 1100cc base model, but Phil changed the seats, converted a Capri steering wheel to fit and changed the engine for a 1300GT unit. February the following year it was up for sale and my daily driver was in for repairs so it seemed a good idea to buy it. Well my daily soon got fixed so the estate was surplus, but I didn't want to sell it. It sat outside for a while with not much happening to it. Then one day, coming up to Easter, Phil came around with a saw in his hand. We had both toyed with the idea of doing a project but had never got past the drawing stage. Anyway, twenty minutes later the roof was on the floor and there was no turning back. Of coarse this meant I had to buy a welder! The first job was to get the shape right so the rear pillars had the centre taken out to give the El-camino style. Ready for a quick trip to Chelsea Cruise!! The back window is from the tailgate and below that a Mk2 Granada boot lid was welded in. So with everything going well with the rear half of the car, now was the time to renue the front. So with Bromley Pageant looming, the car was back together. But not looking too good we all pitched in and painted it the morning of the show. Getting ready for MOT. Then off to paint. Carpet for the back. New badge. All back together. A trip out to the now defunked Street Machine Lazy Sunday at Hickstead. Now the engine bay to do. But then family commitments meant it had to go. Then in 2009 after not being seen for 10 years, it came up for sale. Well I had to have it back. It was almost the same as when sold, but with some dubious mods. A new set of wheels Then MOT time again, which was eventful. So a nice new Ashton Mobile engine went in. Interior re-vamp. and we're done. Well that's it. If you got this far, thanks for being patient. The only thing left is to try and find the time to use and enjoy it.
