hi All
i wonder if one of you would be able to help, i have had the good fortune to be able to purchase a set of wheels, allegedly removed from a 1300E when it was new, by the dealer as the customer wanted different wheels fitted, 4 of the 5 wheels are certainly in new and original condition, but being 5 1/2J, i suspect they could be MK2 wheels, but they are not deep dish, all 5 tyres are the original Michelin XZX 165x13 tyres that were fitted to the 1300E as standard, and are mint, with not so much as one hairline crack, and no ozoning at all, i will have to re-furb the wheels, but want to get the manufacture date from the tyres, to give me a better idea of the exact age, ive been on the michelin site, but the markings they tell you to look for dont exist on these tyres, i think they are too old for the info given on the michelin site

so my question is, does anyone know how to de-code the tyre date on a michelin tyre that old

and before its said, i know they are out of shelf life and propably unsafe for road use, but its not going to be an everyday road car, so originality is the key on this one
