That's not a numberplate light mate it's a boot light numberplate lights have an angled bracket.

_uck shows how far I have got wi my mk1 ! Just checked mine an it is angled , few , but glass broken , I have a bloke looking through his spares for me he has couple of cars on his farm will let ya mate
