mk2 mike Posted July 24, 2015 Report Posted July 24, 2015 Anyone tried these? As I'm getting a respray I thought I might put nice fresh lights on the rear. I know they don't look identical to the originals but I wonder if anyone had any pics on the car or can tell me about the fit. At only £20 a pair I'm tempted to give them a go
katana Posted July 24, 2015 Report Posted July 24, 2015 Without being to blunt - they are A1 Shite as had a set on mine - they are all clear plastic sprayed red and amber and the reflector isn't! Do the proper mount screws up tight'ish and the plastic cracks and they ain't moulded that good either. Maybe ok for a rally car .......... they are £20 for a reason - £1 material and £19 profit!
diffed Posted July 24, 2015 Report Posted July 24, 2015 As Katana said above, plenty good for rally etc. Not for a show car or road going really as no reflector so could give mot problem. But keep an eye out for the likes of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-ESCORT-MK2-1975-1980-n-s-rear-light-lamp-cluster-/231627076827?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35ee0cb4db
mk1del Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 Same here bought some from Santa pod not very good only painted can see white light through them ,bought some proper ones
mk2 mike Posted July 25, 2015 Author Report Posted July 25, 2015 Thanks all. You've answered my question. It might only be £20 but better off in my pocket than theirs! To be honest my originals are in good condition, I just wondered if fresh new lenses would look better against the new paintwork. [emoji106]
