mk2williams Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 Hi all. Can someone recommend me a good company to insure my s reg Escort GL 1300 and i'm 20 years old. Any help would be very grateful cheers.
Admin Vista Posted July 28, 2015 Admin Report Posted July 28, 2015 We have a number of sponsors who specialise in insuring classics (check out the sponsors forums on the index page) but from memory, many of them have a minimum age of 21 and the car must also be a second car. RH Insurance are a possible exception to this. It's worth having a chat with them all though.
In The Pit Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 Also if you have modified it that will make it harder, a lot of insurance companies will charge the earth for modified cars for young people (they see them as boy racers/reckless drivers). You'll have to declare the mods no matter how small as if the police pull you up and they find out the insurance company think it's standard that will invalidate the insurance and they will impound your car and potentially crush it.
mk2williams Posted July 29, 2015 Author Report Posted July 29, 2015 thanks for the replies will try the insurances on the forum. I had to get one for my dad from admiral as I had no time to look around and I had to be over 21.
