*SOLD* 2.1 pinto'ed MK5 Cortina Crusader. *SOLD*

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm looking to sell my 1982 Cortina Crusader that I've owned for the last 8 years. Its currently sorn but still has MOT until July 19th 2016. I have lots of old mots, lots of receipts, two sets of keys. The engine alone owes me over 2K (receipts to prove).

The bad bits

- the paint is dull, worst on roof, bonnet and boot.

- it needs various cosmetic repairs, a badger dented the valance, the bottoms of the front doors are rusted, there are other areas that are rusted around the screen etc.

- the engine needs setting up on a rolling road, it was driving ok until I started trying to find an air leak or a fuelling issue and made the issue worse, got fed up and took it off the road.

The good bits

- the chassis and underside are very solid and always have been (never welded, always wax oiled).

- the standard steels have been replaced with mk2 escort mex steels that i had blasted and powder coated, they have the press on metal hub caps and some good wheel nuts. (They are however pitted in places from the blasting process but it doesn't detract from them too much). they're shod with 175/70 Uniroyal rain experts, all have good tread.

- new standard ride height stiffened springs front and rear from rally design.

- gaz adjusable dampers front and rear.

- flow flex polybushed throughout (except rear antiroll bar).

- new steering rack (not recon).

- new steering coupling.

- new from callipers, discs, pads and hoses.

- drums were rebuilt a few years ago with pads, cylinders and springs etc.

- master cylinder and servo were replaced a few years ago with new items.

- instrument cluster replaced with one with a rev counter, all connected and operational, kept original speedo so milage is correct.

- steering wheel is 14" mountney.

- interior and heading are in excellent condition.

- new cibie headlights with decent h4 bulbs.

- all electrics work as they should.

- type 9 5 speed fitted.

- new uprated clutch (drive torque stage 1)

- the engine is as follows:
