2.1CORTINA Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 eBay link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121894443325?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Theres so little out there for exhausts for the MK5 Cortina, so here you have the opportunity to purchase a full performance exhaust including manifold. This exhaust was fitted to my car until recently and fits better than the standard one did. My car was saloon MK5, don't know if it will fit MK3/4 cortinas as well but I would guess so. The manifold is from a MK3 Cortina GT ( or thats how it was advertised when I purchased it ). The manifold has been painted with black stove paint purely to limit corrosion whilst its not being used. This part is not stainless steel . The manifold has however had the tip cut off and a stainless part welded on so the rest of the exhaust fits perfectly. The rest of the exhaust was made by a specialist from an independent company. Its been made with stainless 2-1/4" pipe, there were no off the shelf pre formed bends or pre-made silencers. It was all made from scratch in stainless steel, all bends are mandrill bent and has been made to a very high standard. The dent shown in the pictures was put there on purpose by the guy that made the exhaust. I agreed for him to do it in the name of being able to fit the exhaust tighter to the body. For what I was using my car for it didn't hamper performance. (The old exhaust rubbers are not included in the sale, they are now in the bin). Id heard so may poor reviews on the ashley systems about having to chop them about to get them to fit. Just checked the price on an ashley manifold and system and its about £390 Why not buy this manifold and system for £250 its a 1/4" bigger diameter, made of stainless and it'l fit. Pick up from TR3 Not certain what it will cost to post but £25 would cover it I would hope 1
