archive; black ratty cortina?

hi, i just remembered an old Cortina mk3 wich had been featured in streetmaschine many years ago. It drove at santa pod rwyb.

It had a turbocharged cosworth under the bonnet and the car looked realy ugly. But went like stink.

Does anyone know who the owner was, and if there is any information about its history. Is he still owning the Tina or what has happened

with the car. It must have been around mid 1990

Full spaceframe all built by Mick Rogers but sadly no more. I think when he built it he bare metalled the shell then left it out in the weather for a couple of months. Ran 10s too.

hello guys, thanks for reply. Yep thats the car i was talking about. But did he drive it with original chassis and cossi lump at first? I didn't know about spaceframe chassis

I don't remember Micks car being fully spaceframed either .

 

I know he had another shell that he was going to build it into , but that was quite a while ago now.

Yes it was changed to space frame at some point awesome car .

i never heard or read anything about it after. It was a great car, one wouldnt give a penny for the looks, but it outran many expensive sportscars

Back then or even earlier, there was also a Toyota Starlet wich was a sleeper too, N/A engine that has got under 13 sec. ¼ mile
