I have a mk 2 transit with the pinto engine, I need to swap it for a Di.

The pick up is going to be used as part of my hotdog stall at music festivals,

and unfortunately petrol is banned from most sites when they become live.

Please help...

Thanks in advancepost-16927-0-02185000-1483549184_thumb.jpg

P100 Sierra 1.8Turbo Diesel

And Sierra 2.3 Diesel,

Remember it was built with a pinto 2lt

So if that could pull it ,any of the diesels should

p1800 td is what you were referring to and no its not man enough for a transit a di would be the ideal choice but the mt75 gearbox will need the floor/tunnel cutting and lifting

So what Diesel engine would you fit,

And make it simple to fit

That's not for racing,an good on fuel

turbo di and auto or di and mt75 all available at realistic money

A lot more work involved and a lot of wiring.

Thought the Sierra would be an easy option, and if it's an old transit wouldn't be that heavy

No airbag ,ABS, P/S , etc

only a lot of wiring on a turbo di or change the pump for a normal di one and wind it up an eighth of a turn a type 9 transit gearbox would be ok but not very strong
