HotRodMatt Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 Get it blasted rather than just rubbing it down, the VHT paint doesn't like any contamination. And it needs to reach a high temperature to cure properly.

On my Cortina, I had it sandblasted and then (Making sure no human hand touched the surface) Painted it with Satin Black Bbq paint. Worked a treat! Mrs wasn't happy when I tried to fit it in the oven though... So it air dried. Loomed good even after a few 1000m 2
