stephens_xpack Posted November 1, 2017 Report Posted November 1, 2017 Does anyone know of someone in the car tyre business that can get hold of old size tyres that no one seems to make anymore? I have 235 x 60 x 13 tyres and looking about they are just not available anymore. Just wondering what happens to old stock, if anyone knows what happens to old tyres, does anywhere sell them, are there any classic car places that manufacture old tyre sizes? I don't really want to move away from 13" wheels, I have just got them looking the dogs hairy spheres, but when the current tyres die - It seems I ain't replacing them anytime soon....
colr6 Posted November 1, 2017 Report Posted November 1, 2017 235 tyres long gone. You could use 205/60 which are still available or if you wanted the width you have to go to 235/45. You should be able to get road legal race tyres but there normally in weird metric sizes.
stephens_xpack Posted November 1, 2017 Author Report Posted November 1, 2017 Yeah I got 205 60 on the front, but those will look lost on the back, and even the 235 45 seem few and far between. I just wonder what happens to old stock, must be some lying about somewhere you would think. maybe I will just have to sell the car to a museum before the 235's i have are knackered.
colr6 Posted November 1, 2017 Report Posted November 1, 2017 Try CAMSKILL tyres for the 235s or demon tweeks but the latter being a lot dearer. DT are advertising khumo. Road/track tyres,I can vouch for those they are good.

Yeah, at some point unfortunately you may be right, but just when I have got my original 7.5j RS alloys looking new as well. Hopefully I can come up with something before needing new sized wheels.

The ones I am running are a good 20 years old but have stayed in real good condition luckily.

Will be old but have been dry stored so should still be ok. Will dig them out and bring to NEC for you to have a look at.
stephens_xpack Posted November 3, 2017 Author Report Posted November 3, 2017 You star Col, if you find them and you got the space - I would defo take a look. But if you think they are no good, don't bring them unnecessarily, I trust your judgement. Much appreciated mate...
steved35 Posted November 4, 2017 Report Posted November 4, 2017 I'll look on the loft see how they are

stephens_xpack Posted November 15, 2017 Author Report Posted November 15, 2017 Yeah blockley, saw them at the NEC, even had a 235 on an RS 4 spoke alloy. Yes Col they ain't cheap, but doing a 1000 miles a year they should last a while, and the ones i have on still have at least next year in them I reckon. Cheers for looking gents.
