I don't know how fussy you are, we used to snip a slot in the tab at the bottom on the rally car ones. Still got them, and yes, they are a bit tight, but reassuringly, they're going to stay on. The ones on my avatar. Trick with them I found, is to make sure they are square to the chrome ring before pushing them on. You could always try a bit of lubricant on the inside lip to make them a bit easier.
