Yes, I got some about 3-4 years ago. Still got them, and yes, they are a bit tight, but reassuringly, they're going to stay on. The ones on my avatar. Trick with them I found, is to make sure they are square to the chrome ring before pushing them on. You could always try a bit of lubricant on the inside lip to make them a bit easier.

Don't know if you are sorted Colin, but there's a pair here on the bay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mk2-Escort-CHROME-LOOK-ARM-REST-TRIM-PIECES-RS-2000-RS-1800-Mexico-Sport-/383936651267

Thanks for that bud, but, the moisture can't be any worse than what's in there ATM. Last summer I put new box section metal roof sheets on, and the amount of moisture that sits on the underside in the garage is quite shocking. I was going to put Tyvek on before the roof sheets, and can still do this by undoing the roof bolts into the joists this coming spring. But did think that one of those diesel heaters, set to come on for a bit each day would keep it nice and dry, but obviously not. Cheers Fozzy

What about one of these diesel blow heaters mate. I've been thinking about getting one of these for when my car comes back. Not only for heat when working in there, but to keep moisture at bay. A friend of mine lives in a static caravan, and has this type of blow heater in and it's really quite economical, and is really warm. You can set the timer to what you want. There's no smell of diesel, and you can use old oil in them too I'm told. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-5000W-Air-Diesel-Heater-LCD-Display-Display-2KW-5KW-for-Car-Truck-Motor-Home/153147548894?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D1085d39826fe492bae75ee71e870577c%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D154302427196%26itm%3D153147548894%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DmaXpeedingrods&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Ab9efb55d-628c-11eb-82c2-d68d0fffdc47|parentrq%3A508de2a01770a69d566e7b63fffe5eec|iid%3A1

My modena green escort I had in about 1990. Then me, when I had a six pack. More like a 1 barrel now. π€£

Did you give him a receipt saying 'sold as seen with no warranty given or implied'. If so, tell him to get stuffed.

Sorted out now thanks. π

Neither did i, good question.

Yeah, seen that mate, and may bid, so long as it doesn't go stupid, which it probably will do. Cheers

Why not do what I did and tap a thread onto the rod that the circlip fits onto. Can't remember what I cut it to now, maybe m8.

I'm on the lookout for a MK2 RS2000 petrol cap. Have you got one hidden in the garage or drawer, if so, I'm interested in buying it. It doesn't matter what colour it is as I'll hand it to my paint sprayer. Thanks in advance.

The bores look good. Nothing bad to report. I put a gauge across them and without my glasses on, read 93mm. I was told it was a 2.1, so that's good. The pistons have been balanced too and are forged with 45 degree bottoms.

Thanks for that bud. I suppose when you look at it, whether I buy a new head, fit a new cam and rockers I might be up to that kind of figure of yours. So might aswell send my unit to vulcan.

Hiya dt mate, thanks. π 2.1 pinto, big valve, RL21 cam, which needs a more road friendlier one putting in as it needs changing anyway. I know you suggested a cam last time mate. I've just been looking at a new head from Burton, at Β£745. π€ Cheers. Fozzy

Sorry I ain't been on for a while guys, been busy and all that. I've kept looking in on the site occasionally. I've finally got round to taking the engine out the car as it's going for a respray on 24th of this month. I've always known the engine would want some work, so it's out and totally took to bits. It's going to need, new big valves, so while I'm at it have hardened seats put in. It needs new tappit rockers, and while its getting done, pressure tested. So where is the best place to send it to have it sorted. And what kind of price am i looking at. I'm in no immediate rush as the paint shop may have the car for a few months. TIA. Fozzy

I have for sale a heater bubble plastic drain pipe for a mk2 escort. I bought this for my RS2000, but have since realised that it doesn't fit because of the pinto rocker cover being too close the bulkhead bubble. This stands me at Β£20, and is in vgc without any cracks or splits. So, Β£20 posted to your door is what I am looking for for it. BACs transfer please or cheque. If you need pictures I will put some up, but I think we all know what we are talking about. Thanks Fozzy

You were supposed to be sending me a wheel to see if they suited my car, but never bothered. Nevermind. -

Hi RP, no mate, the colour and decals are as I got it 2 years ago. Although once I get the time I may change something, we'll see. But then that's a whole different discussion on here. πππ

Bloodyhell lads, you certainly know how to make me think. And I do appreciate what you're all saying. Well I've just re-insured it today and for what it costs and costs to keep in the garage I've decided for the time being to keep it. Cheers π

Thanks mate. ππ

Hi mate, and thanks for the advice. Over the years I have come to the mind that if I don't use something, it gets sold and I don't regret it. I don't need the money, but may, and I stress may need more cash for a building project, so it's a bit of both, lost interest, although when I go into the garage and take the cover off, it makes me smile, and, maybe needing the cash for a project if I get the chance to buy it. Ofcourse, if it doesn't sell, then I'm quite happy to keep it and do something with it when I retire in a couple of years time. Thanks again bud. π
