Qprdazz Posted July 15, 2025 Report Posted July 15, 2025 What do these usually sell for ? I have one that I might be selling at some point. Great compression and good running Just need an idea what it's worth. Engine only no carbs
guido Posted July 16, 2025 Report Posted July 16, 2025 If i am correct, its a south African Ford Sierra block named AX at 1800 cc
Miniliteman Posted July 16, 2025 Report Posted July 16, 2025 Most "AX" blocks you find in Europe are 1600cc and originate from a Kent-engined kit-car.
Qprdazz Posted July 16, 2025 Author Report Posted July 16, 2025 (edited) Yeah it's a 1600 AX from a South African MK2 escort Edited July 16, 2025 by Qprdazz

I think they were first cast in 1983, 3 years after MK2 production ended. There are certainly lots of 1600cc AX blocks in SA. They can be bored to 1800 and stroked to 2L. I don't know if they were manufactured at 1800cc. They can be used as a bottom end to a BDG so quite a handy thing to have. I may be interested if you decide to sell.
