Burns Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 long story short, my history with wheels; 2 cars = 3 accidents (one write off) my last bike got run over (with me on it) my dad gave me his old bike which just needed pedals to be useable, took them off my old bike (took me about an hour cos they were seized) only to find they're a different thread size went to the bike shop and got some new pedals and a set of lights cos mine got broken on the car. so £35. went to work yesterday and broke the chain on my drive so went today to get a new one and thought i needed a new lock too (cos of my bad luck) and needed a chain tool thingy (£40) £75 is much more than i have at the moment (student) the tyres are going down quickly so might need repairing/replacing soon. all in all, thinking it might be easier to just bloody walk everywhere *and breathe*
Stu_B Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 A £40 chain tool!!!? Was it solid gold?? Should be able to get one for about £7!
Burns Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 nah, £40 for the chain, the lock and the little tool thingy
Burns Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 £16 for the lock £10 for the tool £14 for the chain it's a good bike shop for proper mountain bikes, i'd go to halfords but it's about 20 mins away (this shop is opposite my house)
105Nick Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Have you thought about one of those old people mobility scooters? They look very safe and quite fun
Trevmk3 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 get a big hamster ball and go around in that, yeah its still walking everywhere but going down hills could be fun
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Is that Stif? That's where I got my Orange Gringo from.
Trevmk3 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 ive got an orange gringo, built it up from just the frame
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Is it a recent one? I got mine just after they came out. I would have liked to upgrade to discs but there are no mounts. My brother in law has got a full suspension GT frame that I keep threatening to buy and build up.
Trevmk3 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 its a good few years old, built it to take on the jumps and trails we built in the woods and disused quarries, as i kept snappin crank arms and folding wheels
Burns Posted March 15, 2007 Author Report Posted March 15, 2007 Is that Stif? That's where I got my Orange Gringo from. yeah, it's stif, literally opposite my house ps, the chain keeps jumping out of gears another thing to fix
Trevmk3 Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 ps, the chain keeps jumping out of gears another thing to fix just givethe derailer a quick kick or pull and it should sort it, they get slightly bent if the bikes put on its side or been dropped
