:angry::evil: We had the engine re built by throbnozzle racing as ther head was cracked.

We fitted it about a week back and we've been trying to start it and it wont turn over proberly, dead stiff.

We took the plugs out and turned it over stiff stiff.

We towed it and tried to bump start it and all it did was back fire

We changed the timing nothing

So we dont know what to do, looks like we wont be coming to Ireland in it in 4 weeks :evil::evil::evil::evil:

God i hate cortinas sometime.

Can anyone help :evil:

Its a 1500 pre crossflow, i spoke to Joe at throbnozzle and he said we might need to bump start it, tried that and its still not working :(

Firing order may be wrong m8, its bound to be quite tight as its fresh! :wink:

why would you need to bump start a new engine .unless the comp ratio is miles to high or theres a tight thrush washer in the block nipping the crank up. unless the dizzys 180 out but it should turn over easy with no plugs in

What was it?

Timing :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

I'm perhaps being a little dumb here, but why would timing make it stiff to turn over when the plugs are removed? Even if the timings out there's zero compression with the plugs out, so what gives? :?
