Can anyone recomend Where's the best place to get panel parts from , ie that are a good fit and price. Found a place called World of Parts at Rochdale , has anybody used them ?. I'll be wanting a front end for mk1 escort shortly. Any advice appriciated.

Said i'd update , Sorted , turned out it was electrical ,wire that goes from mbe system to fusebox,it was chaffed inside.

I agree with previous posts , amazing how this country can find billions to spend on things that suit,but things that matter get cuts,( to pay for it all i assume ). Noticed ozone layer took another hammering from fireworks and all those pretty lights will have had our national grid (that's already on it's limit) sweating buckets. What annoys me is how the goverment bash on how we all should be saving the enviroment and heating /lighting etc ,load of hipocrites. Had to laugh when they played sex pistols snippet of god save the queen then missed next line out (the facist rehgeme )lol !! Ironicly as i write just said on tv it was great ceremony but could money have been spent better elsewhere !!. The debate will rage on and on i fear. There are more important things to bother about , like will i ever get my mk1 escort going.

Cars a mk1 escort gt but has a red top engine in it and bike carbs. Thought it was maybe sensor from mbe system on it (or whatever it is ),but it isn't. Thing is it sparked (banged and spluttered) other day now it won't. Don't know if it's mbe system itself ,though checked that and power going in or if it's some other small silly electrical thing that's playing up. Two plugs were wet (back) others ok , they wern't sparking then did and big bang from exhaust then didn't again . Think it's electrical ,anyway taken it into garage see what they make of it. Sick to back teeth of it to be honest. Thanks for replies pity your not nearer john!!

Is there anyone in the York area on here who knows what their doing who would be willing to help me with my mk1 escort. I'm not very tecky so don't want to mess about with it in case i do more harm than good. Basically it's been stood in the garage for a couple of months and just won't fire up. Engine turns over , batteries ok,earth's ok i think,just turns till battery goes dead.Ignition lights stopped coming on. Any help much appriciated.

Yellow or white for me though my mk1's le mans green, like it when i got it. Might re- spray it somewhere along the line.

Keep the wheels that are on it. Do the centre cone red like the nuts and / or do the rims in red.

Really chuffed for yer baileymex !! Went to my mk1 other day , been stood a couple of months mind. Key in ,fuel pump on,key turning, turning, turning, not a splutter or a cough, battery weaker and weaker till no more. Took battery off ,recharged,put back on next day,turn, turn,even put jump leads on , turn turn, still no splutter or cough. Then realised fuel pump hadn't turned on,and can't get it to. Looks like that's knackered now.One thing after another. Came out of garage before it got trolley jack over it's roof. Glad somebody's having some luck !!

I started smoking roll ups about 8 years ago , can't smoke normal fags now as i can taste all the chemicals in them. Oddly i've never had a cold since starting on rollies. Best way to stop is will power,it's all in the mind like most things.

I Won't get mine rolled then !!, So am i correct,to make the 7.5 fit i have to either bubble arch,chop axle or get an anglia van axle ?. Seen a lot of mk1/mk2's with these wheels on without bubble arches so i assume they've all had axle's modded.

I'm after some of them wheels for my mk1 escort, what have you done to your car so they don't stick out, ie bubble arches, chopped axle or changed axle to anglia van ?. Appparently you have to do one of them or they stick out an extra 23mm or so.
