thats true but i actually want to rebuild another one! if i drive it into the ground in all weathers ill just watch all of my work being undone by snow, rain and salt. if i sell mine now and do another one ill have fun doing it and have money to spent on it. plus when its done i can thrash the tits of it and keep it outside without worrying about bodywork. i would of course keep it structurally sound. i have been offered a 1968 mk1 van that a really like the sound of.

well my project was completed a short while ago. i loved every second of the resto but now its done i feel a bit... well... empty! now its done theres nothing to do, I thought id love polishing, driving and showing off with it forever but the thing is I dont! im bored. so im gonna do another one. I dont know what to go for yet does anyone have any suggestions? this time im thinking less making it look pretty and more making an beastly fast crazy road goer that i wont feel to protective over if it gets scratched! something i can keep the original old features and fixings but make it strong and fast. any ideas??? my mk1 is just to good for me use and thrash about and have fun with. i didnt intend it to be this way but i sort of feel that i should of left it looking rough and made it mechanically sound? much more fun to own in my eyes. any ideas on what to go for when the mk1 is sold will be much apreceated thanks

prices recently are taking the pi## i for one could not afford to own my mk1 escort if i didnt have the skills to rebuld it myself from a cheap wreck, for most it seems to be all about the "scene" and scenes change. but for me iv always liked the old bangers from childhood. i took mine down to a local car meet the other week and for the 1st time i honestly felt like a real old fuc#=r and im only 32!!!. 90% of them didnt even know what it was, they were more interested in each others speakers than the cars.

welcome i bought my escort mk1 from the wirral, you might have seen it in the past!

iv got -2" lowering springs on the front of my escort but i find them way to stiff for my bad back! im after a set of -1" if anyone has any. could do a swap with my 2" ones if anyones interested?

id rub it back to bare metal then use kurust,a couple of coats of 2k filler primer, wet flat then paint.
