  3. Very nice, keep up the good work.
  4. They are a fantastic car when working right. It didn't have zips in the headlining by any chance ?
  5. Fantastic car the Mk2 Ghia X (had a couple, sadly my estate went walkabout and never returned). I'll put my neck on the block as I am a fan of the original wheels and ride height .
  6. Now there's a question it was somewhere on Jersey and I keep forgetting to ask the converter (RPS near Oxford) which one it was (can't be many on the island). As a matter of interest the max speed on Jersey is 30mph so the African safari must have been a shock.
  7. Well here it is possibly the only Corsair rally car ? The old girl was sat in a museum until 2007(ish) having covered 45000 miles and basicly a concorse standard car, so best thing to do with that ? Yep buy it strip back to a bare shell and convert it to a rally car, well it was a rot free shell . Extra strength welded in, uprated allsorts (a lot of research into the works Corsairs and converted to that spec) and a large bill later it was sent to Cape Town for the African safari rally. It then took place in various rallies around europe and it is now time for a few UK ones, thats where I come in. A small amount of conversion work and a bit of upgrading and it should be ready to rally again soon. Anyway yer tis !
  8. My pennys worth is very simple. I started my driving career in the 1980s (1600E Cortina so I was already set in the 1960s) and feel that the the Fords of that era are still a bit modern (I mean if you want FWD there is a fine selection from BL ). But there are "classics" as well which deserve credit and many forums do them proud. I know in years to come the jelly mould 1.6 L will be seen as an unusual car but so will the Montego 1.6 L (albeit the Sierra does have a gearbox worth having) and I rest my case . I do like the idea of having a 1980s section as long as the old farts like me can point out how wonderful they weren't back in the day. Keep it the way it is and just add a twist of 1980s excess, hey we can get the pastel colours and mullets out
  9. You wouldn't recognise me now.
  10. I'll try for the Route 38 meet should be fun. Remember to wait for the old timer. I'll be at Powderham but that's an outing for the Interceptor and I pop in and see my mum (if it isn't like last year where I spent most of the day in the pub). Aythankinyou.
  11. Chaps, I maybe up for this I'll check with the PA Well I recon you need at least one Corsair.
  12. I suspect this maybe old enough. I'm a serial classic car owner nad have now decided to stop selling them due to the list of "why on earth did I sell that" is getting a tad daft, for example 5x 1600E Cortinas, 3x 3000cc Capris etc etc etc. Anyway my Jensen is a fine car but I needed something at the other end of the scale to have a different kind of fun with so I now, also, own a 1965 Corsair V4 rally car and its' made me feel 18 again. Right piccy time
