Hi Ray, Yeah. I’ve been working abroad for quite sometime and returned to find the Escort, ‘not as I left it!’ I’ve tried all you mention and the motor is definitely kaput. I’m struggling to be able to get hold of one tbh.

The fuse has power, the switch is good but no blowing from the fan. I guess I need a replacement blower unit

As its completely finished now, I've had to take some photographs for my insurers to give a guaranteed valuation so thought I'd share with you I've removed and kept the old basket wave seats. They are in amazing condition so sourced some replacement ones and had them recovered in leather. Same with the dashboard. The original one is in storage and this one recovered in leather The only "gap" that winds me up is the bonnet. When viewed from the left hand side, it's slightly raised on one side. My OCD goes into melt down!

Hi Paul, As Vista suggests, I own an Apache from Jeff Uren's stables: Essex V6 3100. It's very difficult to find any information on them due to the small number created. Whilst approx 1000 Cortina Savage's were made there were only 50 (ish) Apache's made and only 1700 [ish] cars made in total. I'm only aware of another 3 left in the UK. Jeff Uren died in 2007. From what information I can gather sometime in the mid eighties when he started up an interior design company a fire broke out resulting in the loss of the majority of the "Race Proved" documentation. As a car to drive, let's say it's got a "lively" back end. All the weight is in the front. It sounds lovely though and the torque is mental! Pulling off in 4th is no problem whatsoever.
