  1. For me it's great to see an original classic as much as a modded classic as much as a crazy custom V8! Life without all of those would be a narrow minded dreary place! You could say that all the RS and sporting models are just base models modified by Ford. One of the marketing benefits was that they are easy modded and reversed back if desired. Thats the beauty of old Fords, you can have whichever tickles your testis (if you have the cash!).I'm with matt, respect a car for what it is individually. Nice 1300e btw Ray, even if it is a replica of an original car, modded with unoriginal paint (only kiddin!)
  2. Yeah I had my eBay rumbled before and cars like expensive Mercedes appeared on my listings! Usually on short duration listing too 3 days or less. I used to sell alot on there, but the scammers are rife.
  3. That looks superb mate. Pretty much exactly how I hope to have my 1600 Sport. Is it venetian red? Alas, I no longer have the front spots, I actually binned them about 17 years ago. I know, what a fluffy bunny! Did keep the over riders though, but I think they're a bit split on the fixings which have gone a bit rusty. We're yours in good nick or had any fettling? Edit: only just clocked this thread is from 6 months ago!
  4. Hi Gemma and Ashley. She knows what the car means to me, I trust her, She's a gud 'un! Nice looking mk1 btw. Hey RIKB80, we all need a practical daily driver, mines a practical estate car for the family, albeit a 2.5 litre, V6, quad cam, 24 valve, twin turbo! ha ha! My late dad used rate the C1, but then he did work at the local Citroen dealership!
  5. He's only 7 but can't wait to get behind the wheel! Attaboy!
  6. Sheezus! They are clearly just womens knicks! Did you just say you were dripping Transplanter?
  7. Nice car and good info there Ray. What colour did you say your anorak was again!!
  8. Sweeeeeeet motor
  9. 6R4 all the way! Move over Rover, let the Ford take over!
  10. Ahhhh the little darlings! It's easier to spawn more brats than escorts!
  11. Ta dt36. I'd rather push the Ford than drive a Vauxhall! No, in fairness I have had a mk2 Cavalier CDi which to be fair was reliable and comfy. And had some great drives in my mates old Kadett SR.
  12. I'm guffawing so loud here I'm waking the missus up! Granzilla is pretty trick, and quite like the rodded pop. The anglia looks like a lovechild of an rs200 and a cossie wearing x-packed undies!
  13. There truly are some horrible scum out there. Gutting to see this
  14. Ta for more welcomes. What a friendly bunch! I would love a Nimbus @RIKB80 but got a couple of whippersnappers so a mk1 or 2 tranny camper or even a Taunus would probs be more suited. Need to get the escort back in shape first really though!
  15. Nice, nice and nice!
  16. That is a beauty, great find. I agree keep it standard and orig. Definitely drive it, but mostly on sunny days, look after it and don't give it death (that's what your imprezas for!) and you will have a smile from ear to ear every time you turn the key.
  17. Thanks for the welcomes and good words people. I've only had the car 17 years ( ) so it's about time it sees some action again.
  18. Hi folks. Thought I would say hi. I too am a fellow Ford fan and I'm in the (long and drawn out!) process of putting my mk2 Escort back together. I really do need a kick up the ol' jacksie to get on with it, so feel free The wife has recently mentioned selling it and getting a camper/caravan which has given me the heebie jeebies. She will be on the market before the Escort . It's a 1600 Sport, no minter and probs never will be but I ♥ it and hope to see it back out and about some time this year (honest love!), you never know......
