The car was featured in Classic Ford Magazine summer 2014
The spec is as follows:
Body:
1300L two door MK1 escort shell, link boxes and rear turrets, steel bubble arches, alloy fuel tank, metallic green paint with hand painted RS2000 stripes and HPE logos
Engine:
HPE Motorsport 2.1 Pinto, forged rods and pistons, HPE spec cam, bolt in core plugs, billet alloy toothed pulleys, MSD ignition, twin IDF carbs, aeroquip fittings, Mocal oil catch tank, alloy radiator, Facet fuel pump and Filter King pressure regulator, running 189BHP
Transmission:
Type 9 five speed with quick shift kit, atlas axle with 3J Driveline half shafts and LSD
Suspension:
Front – Custom GAZ coilovers, compression struts, alloy hubs, 2.4 turns quick rack and alloy eccentric top mounts
Rear – Six linked with GAZ coilovers
Brakes:
Front – Vented discs and Wilwood callipers, braided lines throughout
Rear – Solid discs and Sierra Cosworth rear callipers
Wheels and Tyres:
9x15 inch minilites with gold painted centres, 205/50R15 tyres
Interior:
Ferrari 355 front seats, works style twin binnacle, flocked dash with VDO gauges, carbon fibre doorcards OMP wheel
It was serviced by Harris Performance Engines in July this year and MOT due August 2016, its covered 610 miles since rebuild.
I had a baby recently and I’ve been getting a lot of pressure from the powers that be to get a sensible car so I’m sad to say the escort will have to go, if I had the money and the space I would keep it but I don’t
