  1. Well I no I'm not going to get near the 350bhp I had with the scoob but I thought around 150 in a mk2 being lighter would be quite enough really . But I do like to see the cross flow in an escort I think they suit it really well and rev better don't they . Just thinking for the future really as I do like my power . Also I have gas flowed in an alloy head before so would be doing that my self , but not tried it in a steel head as I used a dremal grinder . It was a mk2 Astra 1.3 it did 40 in first 70 in second 90 in third and 125 in fourth it was a real screamer lol .
  2. Just wondering weather to go 1600 crossflow or pinto .
  3. What sort of power can you get from a standard 2.0 pinto with four branch manifold on twin 40 webers ? Are they fairly quick ? Thanks for any info
  4. I bet that must of been what he did then cus it was quick but you needed a good battery to turn it over cus of the compression . This was in a mk4 cortina bolted to a 1600 gearbox and diff so can only imagine what it would go like in a mk2 escort
  5. Oh thanks ! what year car had the injection head on it ? Sounds like a plan
  6. I need to learn how to drive like frank lol http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy8w915Z1Wc
  7. Well you have answered my question anyway thank you ! I won't need to put a smaller head on a 2.0 litre bottom end then just thinking in the future maybe dropping the 1.3 cross flow and putting a 2.0 pinto in instead . Bloody frank Kelly's fault just been watching him in is mk2 escort McRae stile
  8. Is the transit 2.0 litre low compression does it have smaller valves then just wondering what this other head was then with the smaller valves hmmmmm
  9. Maybe could of been that then I just remember him showing me the heads and the 2.0 litre had small valves and the 1.6 had big valves maybe it was a gt head , it was a pig to start as in didn't turn over very fast but when running. Was ok just a shame it got stolen as they blew it up so didn't last long either .
  10. Nice ! ! Keep us posted with pictures looking forward to seeing this one as it's goner be orange
  11. Hi I recall about twenty years ago my mate built a 2.0 litre pinto bottom end with a 1.6 head as he said the valves on a 1.6 head are bigger than a 2.0 litre head is this right all I remember is the car was really quick as in it got stolen and the police couldn't catch it in a scenitor police car . Just after abit of info really if the 1.6 does have bigger valves or not ? Thanks for any info .

  19. Just got the wheels this morning and put them on quick there 13x7 et-7 on 185/60 tyres standard springs and missing the arches ok just not sure if you had three fattys in the back they would though lol . And just blue tacked the front chrome strip on to take picture lol had about five seconds before it fell off ! Not washed or polished yet just wanted to see what they looked like
  20. Yes I saw a mk1 Mexico yesterday for about 6k but that must be a scam I no why do people do this .
  21. That sounds good then as I won't be using it much it should last ages when I first heard it I expected to see blue smoke coming out the back but there was nothing I was very surprised it must of been well looked after to be in the condition it is in for a thirty five year old car and still on the road up to the end of 2011 . Looks like it's had a new near side rear arch , drivers side front leg top can't remember what you call it lol , and a couple of little patches on the sill .
  22. Thanks just wondered what sort of mileage you guys have seen
  23. What sort of mileage will a 1.3 cross flow do any ideas on average not abused and standard , mines on about 85k it's not smoking yet just wondered how long these engines may last . thanks for any input .
  24. Lol sorry didn't notice you was from Australia yes it's a very solid base with original engine and 85000 hence why the interior is in good condition but it must of spent plenty of time inside cus most had rotted out 20 years ago
