  1. Totally agree if you can find one this came up 10 miles away and to be fair it will be a lot quicker with a gas flowed head than the 1.3 . Plus the carb and sump are worth what I paid for it .
  2. Ok lol I see where your coming from hopefully should make the escort worth that little bit more fingers crossed and go abit better than the 1.3
  3. What would it be worth do you think ?
  4. It's a h73hf raised ford straight across not oval
  5. Where would it be on the sump then any ideas if so I can try and see if I no where to look .
  6. Will have a look sometime but the sump needs a good clean before that lol thanks again
  7. Only paid a couple of hundred for it anyway so well worth that I think . Thanks for your help anyway looking forward to the rebuild and repainting it all plus gas flowing the head so should go a bit better than the 1.3 crossflow .
  8. Was that the 32/36 DGAV rs manifold and alloy sump if so I got that much lol , there is a blob of blue paint on top of the middle bearing god knows what that is I must say it does look very clean for a 41 year old engine .
  9. It came from Germany with loads of spares from a collector he said it was a genuine rs2000 engine which came out of a car with 85000 km there is not much wear on the engine the block still has most of the black paint on it . Plus there is no tear drop ports
  10. Thanks just edited post as found these other numbers in the cast the 87 I saw was 81 but that's in big numbers the other is small
  11. Hi sorry for the delay it says m75 so does that mean 1975 ? And the head has 74hm6090ga in the cast under the cam .
  12. Can anyone please tell me if the number in the top of the head under the cam cover is the year please as this one says 87 if so might be an unleaded one thanks
  13. Hi I've just bought this engine I've been told it's an rs2000 engine it's done 80000km about 60000miles I've had the head off it's got 42mm inlet valves 36mm outlet valves running a 32/36 DGAV and the bore measures 90mm across is this standard 110bhp as the rs spec is . I'm stripping it down and cleaning everything up plus repainting everything that's why I took the head off there is no lip on the top of the bore plus no play when try to wobble the piston from side to side . Hopefully a good buy . The cam is a ford h42 .
  14. Nice wheels arnt they I was well pleased with mine they really set the car off don't they . My mate said it take his eye off the car now he just looks at the wheels ll
  15. Not sure was hoping some nice person would tell me lol .
  16. Hi does anyone no where I can get a choke cable from for my 1.3 l mk2 escort thanks
  17. Hi snapper the reason I ask is I see the cams are £300 ish and also you can pick up a big valve head for a little more so was just wondering which was best . Thanks for the info maybe I'll stick with the high lift cam standard valves then for easiness plus skimmed injection head to help with compression
  18. What would be best standard cam with big valves or standard valves with high lift cam ? On a 2.0 pinto please
  19. Do I need an injection head then or is standard ok for this power ? Sorry for all the questions lol .
  20. And about 10 mpg lol mind you I was down to single figures in the subaru on full chat
  21. I got you thanks so with an injection head if I can find one a mild cam 4 branch manifold 38 DGAS carb it should be 150 ish bhp ?
  22. Sorry not sure what 38 DGAS is is it a twin choke weber ? Thanks also do you need high lift cams to get that power plus gas flow etc ?
  23. Is that on twin 40 webers or twin choke weber
