  1. This is the original thread I posted when I was all enthusiastic about my (then newly purchased) Capri. Embarasssingly this was nearly 6 years ago.... It was always meant to be a "long term" project... Honest! http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/ipb/index.php?/topic/14275-my-28i-on-the-road-at-last/ So - Its been a long while since I posted anything on here, mainly because since 2007 I bought a house, put the Capri in the garage, got married, put stuff in the garage on top of the Capri. Forgot about the Capri for a while... Had two Children.... vaguley remembered i had a Capri. Dug it out of the garage, turbo'd it. MOT'd, taxed, insuread it. Drove it a couple of times...... and then put it back in the garage (where it currently resides - although its all legal and ready to go when I want it now ) Other than the engine the only other changes from the pics in 2007 are the wheels (now runs 15" 7 spokes) and a newer/Mint RS steering wheel. I shall try and ensure I visit, participate & update a bit more regularly from now on! Cheers!
  2. Thats why people ask silly money for two door escorts nowadays - when they were cheap they got rallied to death!
  3. Gotta love the Genral Lee, complete with a union jack on the roof! It broke on the way back form the run I filmed - not sure if it ran again later in the day.
  4. Hope these work......
  5. Thought I'd add the pics I took yesterday at the speed trials - some are similar to the ones already on here. A good day and some cool cars! Not OSF's but worth a pic anyway. My wife drives one of these ^, but hers cant do 9sec quarters! (and she keeps the wine in the boot...) I'll add some videos later & some more pics. Cheers!
  6. How cool! That is one awesome machine!!
  7. I actually (begrudgingly) agreed to do some overtime this weekend...... oh well, best un-agree quickly I'll have to dig the capri out - I'll try and get my bro to bring his Cortina up too.
  8. When I read, "Orchid, White leather & White vynil roof" I was expecting something a little camp - like a cross between Roland Rats ford pop & boss Hoggs Caddy. But it looks stunning! Really good paint job etc - interior looks spot on too. Very nice Nice One.
  9. Drilling the airbox does give a nice induction roar!! But I dont think it makes much in the way of extra BHP - it does seem to give a little bit more of low down punch though............. or could just be my imagination
  10. Like it! makes me miss my old mk1 Good choice in tyres too, put a set of those on my missus' Puma.
  11. Thanks for the comments! Should be getting my compomotives on it soon, I'll probably lower it an inch at the same time. Updated pics to follow. I must admit, it looks a bit better in the photos than it does in the metal. But Im happy with it........... For now
  12. Very cool, Dont see too many sports about. Like you say, those rims are a bit.......... errrr......... well....... Minilites would be much better suited.
  13. You could be right, I aquired it over a year ago! You know how it is, I wanted to spend money on sensible things like MOT's, Insurance etc....... but things like loud exhausts and go-faster bits kept coming my way...... I couldnt resist Its great to be back on the road in an OSF! I'll have to start coming to a few shows & meets again. Caprifan, are you still carbing your capri?
  14. I've had it a year - finally got it MOT'd, taxed and insured a couple of weeks ago so I thought I'd post a couple of pics and the updated spec. Would've done it earlier but been enjoying driving it too much Stage 3 heads, enlarged throttle body, magnex exhaust, K&N with drilled airbox. Drilled, grooved discs with green stuff pads. Braided brake hoses and poly bushed throughout. Interior is fairly stock, Mk2 dash & clocks. RS wheel. The paint needs a bit of work here and there, but cleans up ok. Next mods will be suspension, anti dive kit and maybe a cam. I'll probably fit a 4spd box as the type 9 is a bit notchy (as theres one in the garage) ! I've got a turbo technics kit in the garage too but that'll be a winter project if it ever happens! Hope you like it, Cheers!!
  15. Thats cool! Love the sleeper style, especially the steels
  16. Excellent Only 270 bhp at the wheels eh....... Very impressive mate, nice one.
  17. It seems that way - usually more like 3 or 4........
  18. Thought I'd post a few pics of the other classics in the family. He's owned the capri for about 10yrs now. It has an ever changing spec, currently runs Stage 3 heads, Kent cam Oselli inlet with a 390 holley, lumenition, stainless janspeeds etc etc..... Coil overs, poly bushed, genuine xpack anti-dive, caprisport brakes and lots more I've forgotten! Next is the daily hack. This was an ebay "bargain" needed lots of welding and a bit of suspension work. It now has Spax adjustables, lowered springs & is fully poly bushed. Just added the cosworth rims this weekend! (it actually sits lower now than in the pics - just came off the jack)
  19. Like your style....... This is my bro's 2.0, he's got spax adjustables, lowered springs etc on it now. I'll post some pics later.
  20. Its a Cosworth YB, it runs 4 wheel drive too. Been around for a while - there was a feature in the CCI mag afew years ago - think the bloke who built it ran a garage called Northshore or something. The build quality is excellent. Saw it at a couple of shows. Clarkson never mentioned the spec on topgear.
  21. Cool Mk1 transits are getting very thin on the ground these days. You could put a whippy machine in there and make a few quid in the summer.
