  1. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-SOHC-Pinto-Timing-Belt-Tensioners-RS2000-Capri-Cortina-Granada-etc-/282391289191?hash=item41bfd51d67:g:ZQQAAOSwNRdX59xt You could try asking the bloke selling these
  2. Have you contacted Burton Power to see if they do them?
  3. anyone interested at £300?
  4. I wasn't sure and checked on a few forums and apparently they were just an optional extra from Ford. Although you may be right about them not being catered for on this site. I used them on my XR4x4 and I'm on this site for my Escort MK2. Clearly I've reached that age where I'm getting confused! lol.
  5. Why did you move my Set 16" RS 7 Spokes from parts for sale to general items for sale? There are other sets of wheels in Parts for sale and if Wheels aren't part of a car we'll be going no where!
  6. Need a refurb but still in good condition. 1 Good Tyre 5-6mm, 1 with 2mm and 1 with 1mm the 4th is shredded from a blowout Tyre are 205/45. Collection as I have no idea how I would get them posted other than a pallet. Located near Retford DN22 £350 ono
  7. and they'll be here on Friday... 2 months early
  8. They're advertising for a sheet metal worker, so they're trying.
  9. Fine words, I try to live by much the same, not that I'm appreciated for it!
  10. Not sure if that makes them look super efficient or poor planniers! But good news on the fitting Their current deal is £250 for each of the bulk head panels, which is about a 1/3 - 1/2 of the price!
  11. Hi Just ordered an upper and lower Bulk head from them for my MK2 Escort. there's about a 3 month wait. Just wondered if anyone had used them before? Also they have a deal on for the bulk head panels at the moment. Thanks and here's hoping the news is good!
  12. That ones missing. Someone started stripping it some time ago and probably got scared off by the bulk head, which I think is what happened with the last guy. So I think the bits have got spread out over the last 4 years (since it was imported) Also with it being a 1981 it may have been a mismatch, RS 2000 body but nothing else so they badged it as a sport, then who ever imported it took off the plate and resold it as an RS requiring registry. Not that it really matters, from what I've read you can't get a V5 from DVLA that says RS on it anyway. It's going to have to wait for space in the garage for the time being, but hopefully I should be putting up another garage in a month or so. I'll keep an eye out for an English axle then
  13. I'll keep an eye out for one. As to ebay, wrong information,,, now there's a first! The RS2000 I had in my youth was slightly tuned and forever eating diffs, I snapped the crown bolts twice (genuine Ford) and then replaced them with some better ones and the pinion gear shattered and that was the end of the RS Diff!
  14. and as if by magic I just spotted one on ebay! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mk1-escort-mk2-rs2000-Borg-warner-axle-heavy-duty-export-axle-genuine-very-rare-/231834822004?hash=item35fa6ea574:g:AGUAAOSwa-dWlAqr But are they any good?
  15. I'll stick my nose under the back end tomorrow and put up the pics, I'll also get some pics of the RS bits that are confusing me as to what it is. It's probably some mismatch of what they had left like the last Capri's made here.
  16. I'll check the Axle but I think it's round. I also came across a couple of South African RS's that showed the Engine code as 'J' and a couple of 1600 Sports showing the engine code as 'D' which is what's on my plate. It could be one of the last ones made and they just chucked everything they had left in, but it's looking like a 1600 Sport rather than an RS2000
  17. Could have been, He was Welsh and I'm not, so a few words were lost on me. Nice chap though. I had meant to look it up further before I typed what I thought it was. I'll be stripping it and will check the ratio and report back. Still need to try and read the Chassis code. With there being so few RS2000 made I would like to be sure it's genuine as it's the difference between restoring the shell to original or doing a few mods. It needs a bulk head, gear box tunnel, floor repairs, parcel shelf (someone mounted a sub) spare wheel well... etc
  18. I have the chassis plate which is not in the best of condition, It does have the large centre fuel tank with the long neck. No engine or gearbox. I will need to see how the Australian Axle fits so I can check against mine. The axle is different to the last RS I had. The previous keeper said it was a cologne, but I will need to check this further. No interior, I will have to do some comparisons to see if I can spot the differences. Thanks for the info, it's much appreciated
  19. yeah I saw those, they're taking the... Anyway, picked up the RS today, just got back, long day. Needs a tad of work, pretty much every panel, but I guessed it would. Just looking I need: - Front Screen Bonnet Nose Cone (the one with it is beyond repair. Head light assemblies Interior Dash Clock Pod Dash top rail Rear bumper Steering column, I think the outer is there and the inner maybe kicking about in the car still. Should keep me busy.
  20. Yup, for the SA RS... when I get it and because they are the most comfortable seats I have ever had in a car. Currently it doesn't have any. I can't put Recaro's in as the Mrs hates them, she's 5'1" and the side supports hit under her arms. I have a pairs in the XR and she's given me nothing but grief since I put them in. So if anyone wants to swap... I'll get some pics of the Recaro's, they need a little work.
  21. Just about to buy an Escort RS2000, South African Import, and wanted to check if anyone had any info on the chassis numbers and how to read them. Also any info on the body. Do they have all the same features as a normal Mk2 RS2000 i.e. tramping bars...
  22. Any condition just so long as they can be revived. Don't mind back seats too.
