Hi has anyone got an alternator mounting bracket from a cvh ( xr2/xr3/rs turbo). Needed to mount alternator under exhaust side on a blacktop. Also an alternator to go with it?. Running servo tower so need to fit to exhaust side. Thanks.

Hi. Could anyone tell me if there is enough room to fit a weber 36/38 carb on a zetec manifold into a mk1 escort without moving the servo tower?. Have heard it needs to be lowered if using 40s or bike carbs but just using normal twin carb. Thanks. Also if only possible with a certain inlet manifold where can I get one?. Cheers.

As long as the numbers are in place you should be ok. As stated in my post after the check, they aren't allowed to climb under the car nor can they remove anything covering something. Most importantly they really have no idea what they are looking at. They have a tick sheet and tick what can be seen. Asked me if all drive train, suspension and axle were original. I said yes, box got ticked. Didn't even look!!!. If you fail the test the car will be sent for iva and most likely be given a q plate. Hope this helps.

They operate on a points score. They check that the original axle and running gear is on the car, or of original spec. They want original engine and box although only drop points for not having it. Original strut or floor numbers and they check the clocks, dash and take around 12 photos. That's the actual list of things they want. In reality the man who came to me checked the chassis number, vin plate, and took pics of the car. That was it. Had issues with the v5 after as logged it as original colour of grey even though the photos show I had just painted it blue!!! Then came back with original engine number even though I had indeed shown them the original engine on the floor but the new engine was in place and that's what he took a picture of. Waste of time, but all done now.

No worries but I'm going to buy 2 door skins and pin them on. Just want a rotten damaged bonnet. £200 is a bit much to fit to a crap old stock car to twist it. £200 is a good price for a bonnet but not for what I want. Cheers anyway.

Hi. I'm after a full rwd zetec setup. Everything needed. Want ideally one ready to drop in with the box, clutch and loom. Will be run on Webber so cut down loom/ edis 4 loom. Or any parts to do the conversion. Have a 1600gt mexico engine and box and a fully rebuilt 1300 xflow engine and box to deal with if any interest. If not cash waiting. Thanks.

Looking for a complete rear axle with half shafts and diff for 1600 mk1/2 escort. Drum brakes or disc conversion if fitted, either is good. Needs to be in good order as will be bolted straight into car. Thanks.
