  3. Hi. I'm after a mk1 2 door rollcage. Either just the rear or full cage. Only a show cage so doesn't need to have certification. Has to be bolt in though. In Surrey but will travel. Cash waiting. Thanks
  4. Yes mate. Tried them but haven't got one. Ordered eba one and just have to wait. Thanks
  5. Thanks for the replies. It's 8cm girling type. Found one on eBay but delivery not till next week. If anyone has a good useable one or new one that can post ASAP please let me know. Would rather stay original than fit mk2 one. Cheers
  6. Hi does anyone have a servo type mk1 escort 2 port master cylinder. Believe it's from a rs2000. Has the larger bottle on top with the 2 ports on the right had side. Needed asap. Thanks.
  7. Has been siting for 3 months waiting to be inspected. May be that the tyres have perished.will update when I change them. Thanks again. Hope it works.
  8. No I went for the more expensive square tyres.lol. I haven't checked the wheels. I have a spare set of wheels so will give that a try. Hope it's something that simple as been on it all day. Thanks for the reply.
  9. Finally got the car taxed and took it for a drive. Steering is violently shaking at about 20mph. Sterling wheel moving side to side about 3 inches on its own. Not under braking. Have checked front legs for play, anti roll bar and bushes, lower arms and bushes. All are good. Had new calipers and pads fitted. All wheels running free when brake released so not binding. Any ideas as I've ran out!! Cheers.
  10. Whole reason I got the car was for this show as it falls on my birthday, emailed the organisers but have had no response so I presume the tickets are all gone.
  11. *** UPDATE *** Arrived 2 hours after timeslot. Took photo of car and dash clocks, one of the vin and one of the chassis number on strut. Closed the bonnet and said.... All done. Had to ask him if he wanted a picture of the engine number as original engine wasn't in it but on the floor next to it. Nope we don't need engine numbers, nor are we allowed to touch or remove anything from the car or look underneath??. Asked me if it was original axle, drivetrain and suspension. Of course it was going to be a yes!!!. Now not saying I'm not happy that I will finally get my v5 but if this is the inspection that they do, there really is no point. The bloke told me they are contractors and are paid £35 a car including travel time and fuel, no wonder they don't want to hang around. Still the good news for me is it's only a week away from being on the road, might even make the summer festival.
  12. Just had a cancellation. So will let you know how it goes and what they actually want. Car not 100% original as has been upgraded during its restoration. Better front legs, better brakes the normal upgrades if not going concourse. Not original colour either. Still will have to see. Fingers crossed as wanted for the Brighton ford show on 16th.
  13. The vehicle will need to be inspected as it hasn't been taxed for a long period. It's just gutting as by the time it's all processed, be winter and back off the road.
  14. I'm fully in agreement with you on being all for it if it didn't take 4 weeks to process documents to come to the conclusion it needs checking, then 5 weeks to get an appointment for check, then as recommended by dvla on the phone a further 6 weeks to receive the report and process the application. On top of that the original wait for osf verification and compiling all the documents as well as mot'ing it and insuring it all the time it's just sat in storage. Show season not happening for me this year!!!. And in answer to other post no it's not insurance loss or stolen, just been restored after being off the road for a long time. Only bought it as it had paperwork and identification on the vehicle already. Even original engine with numbers that matched. Just I suppose one of the randoms as it is a mk1 escort and they are widely known to get stolen.
  15. Blue mk1. 1971.
  16. Have registration number, vin plate, engine number, chassis number on strut. All verified by osf. Just a joke. Oh yeah and the original v5.
  17. Hi. Anyone had a vehicle inspection done by dvla sgs uk? Trying to register my mk1 escort which was verified by OSF with no problems. Paperwork in, 4 week wait, letter arrives wanting sgs to inspect it. Only available 9-5 min to Fri and a 5 week wait. So day off and another long wait. What is it they want to inspect as all the details and vehicle was verified by old skool ford who know more than any so called vehicle inspector? Cheers
