What is the world coming to... its all about money these days That's exactly why we cancelled our Sky contract last December. Came home one evening after a storm to see the dish flapping about where the bracket had rusted and they said it would be £65 to just turn and look at it - and tell us the bracket was rusted and that's why the dish is flapping about. We tried some local aerial "specialists", who all said the earliest they could come was February so we decided that as most of the stuff we watch is on the Freeview channels and the rest of it is utter shite anyway, we pulled the dish down and cancelled it. The only thing I've really missed since we did that was "Lost" but we haff alternative means of vatching that now...

That's why I get all mine crushed. No, no, no - just kidding. I just sell them to people who smack then up and then sell 'em for peanuts.* Or have them crushed. *Not that I'm bitter about my poor old 2.0 Laser being bought by a couple (for £1,500!) who generally wrecked it, had a blow out, smashed the front end in, and then recently flogged it on Fleabay for £260... Before (in March 2006 - de-striped and black front end trim fitted): and after I'd put her back to standard when I sold her in June 2006: After (August 2008): and to think I was panicking about a few bits of rust that were appearing on the front wings...

Any excuse to dig this out...

I have the Finepix s5100 which has done me proud! Started off with an s304, then wanted more control and am now looking to upgrade again to a DSLR - as and when I've collected enough beer tokens. Really pleased with the results I've got from it and had some very nice comments in my Flickr account - one person commented that they couldn't believe I was getting those results with a "lowly" point and shoot camera! Would recommend one in a flash. Some samples... and one I buggered about with in Flickr's editing tool Picnik:

I had a go at it a while back too - you do really need the right angle for it to look convincing though...

Dad had a 126 - he saw it for sale at a garage locally and felt so sorry for it, he bought it! Drove awful though and very unreliable - kept dying on him wherever he went in it and he lost faith in it in the end. He spent hundreds on it trying to get it sorted - even bought 2 spares vehicles. When I first set eyes on her it was the morning after a friend's wedding. I had to go up to Affordable Classics in Essex to meet her for the first time and I'll never forget it. Roger introduced me to her as she was sat there in the October morning sun, calling to me. I just knew she was the one for me - I'd waited for a very long time to get my hands on her and had been saving up for years so I could make my move. After our first drive together, I knew I had to have her, she pulled like a train and the feeling was quite intoxicating... Wha.. oh.. the other half you say? Oh, I knew her from college.
