  2. Nice set of RS 4 spokes (name escapes me at this moment), normal headlights (looks like a Reliant Scimitar) and just a general neaten and tidy up on the bonnet, arches and spoilers with a lairy Pinto under the bonnet and it would be cool IMO.
  3. Awesome. Turns out what I was looking was completly different to what I posted.
  4. Nothing at the moment. Will be in a Mini next year though, will be owning a MK2 at some point soon after though. Lovin' your MK2.
  5. Ah yeah, that's one of the cars I'm thinking of. I also remember seeing something similar on Retro Rides from a show. When I find it, I'll whack it on here.
  6. I remember seeing someone's car on here a while ago and can't find the original thread. It was a MK3 Cortina or Capri IIRC. It had a red bottom and had a matt/primer black top half. Any pictures or links to it would be very welcome. If anyone has any two tone pictures, feel free to add them here.
  7. Engaging the clutch once to match engine speed, then engaging it again to change gear. AFAIK.
  8. I just thought that was a thing people used to do on non synchromesh gearboxes, and theres no need on a synchromesh gearbox .
  9. Cool pics, have you got the full res of these two please? My emails in my profile, thanks mate.
  10. Touch of sour grapes......... Anywho,I do agree that accident was bloody terrible thing to happen, but I don't think just banning people from driving just for taking part in such an event or having loads of money is a good idea. Also got to remember this is the first time an accident has happened since the event started 9 or so years ago. I think there is some responsibilty on the part of the organisers, but they can't have 100% control over everything and everyone. The rally this year has been called of out of a mark of respect now which is a good gesture I think. AFAIK,the whole event is all about racing either, some do it for the adventure and for the scenery and having a good time as well. Don't think all the claims of what goes on there as well are 100% true either, just hyped up a bit to cause some excitement. I'd love to do the Gumball or Cannonball rally. Can't just tar the whole event as bad because of a couple of idiots who caused a crash.
  11. Cheers. I've heard about the lack of tuning alot when this engine is mentioned. I was merely think of it as a fun, cheap project and if the engine breaks just chuck a Zetec or something in.Besides,150ish bhp is about enough in an Angila. Cheers. As above my whole reasoning was it to be cheap, fun and different. You two were the people I was trying to think of and couldn't remember. I reckon keep it standard and if to mod it;Cams and bodies. Tuning bits are everywhere m8! Even do manifolds for 45's now so no worries of EFI! Fit a mega jolt system and Bob's your mothers brother! Looking good even though it's the 8v one. Never knew that.
  12. Bit bored here and was wondering how difficult would it be to put an L4 (MK5/MK6) Escort RS2000 engine in a Angila? You can pick them up cheap enough and they've got 150bhp standard and sound sound rather horny when being pushed? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-RS2000-ENGIN ... dZViewItem Due to the Ford bellhousing alingement being the same over the years,I reckon an L4 and a rocket box in an Anglia would be awesome cheap fun. I remember there was someone on here who was buliding a Sierra DOHC powered Angila which the L4 engine is based around. Btw,what does YKT mean?
