  1. It's the way I'm going with mine. I'm looking to replicate the car I pictured with the air box.
  2. New manifolds can be expensive and the airbox is like unicorn $hit rare. I'd imagine you'll run trumpets anyway so shouldn't be an issue.
  3. Here you go Group one loveliness Defiantly fit, don't know if you'll need the RS2000 bonnet modification.
  4. Come on guys you all know there's only one colour that matters.....
  5. So what year was this? I'm thinking 2002/3 Haven't posted on here for a while but I thought some of you guys would enjoy these pics. Posse's and Baz's Mex at the pumps I think. Pip and Ben. Was a funny weekend. The whole Surrey convey stopping on the M40 hard shoulder on the waydue to someone gearstick coming off I seem to remember.
  6. Looking to replace the suspension on the my old 2000. Currently running exactly (!) what she left the factory with 35years ago. Although it's fine obviously things are starting to sag. Anyone got some pointers on what would be best to go for. Looking for a low stance but not racecar firm.
  7. Yeah rare find these days, mine has 46000 but only had 1 wing replaced....
  8. Hi chap, each to their own and all that.. I suppose it's not about whether it can retain it's id more whether it's still a '72' RS. I understand the whole restored verse og debate but I do believe your car takes it to another level, almost beyond auto culture and into art?? Haven't seen your car in the flesh (unless it was the one on the AVO stand at Birmingham last year) but would love to have a poke around it someday. I'm very lucky to own a mostly orginal AVO car, unmolested and covered in 35 years and 45000 miles of history. (The VW guys call it patina, Ford guys call it scabby ) Don't think I'd swap but hey as I said each to their own I'll be Joining the AVO club in a couple of weeks (about time after 15 years of ownership) so maybe we'll catch up someday at some shows. Peace and all that
  9. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm reading this with interest. So 'Modena' do you class this car as an original AVO car? Is it accepted as an orginal car within the AVO club? Is it a bit like 'Triggers Broom' I think the car looks great but sorry mate that's no '71 RS1600
  10. Where do you work then Colin, I'm on Beddington Lane..... well for 7 more working days then sunny Devon for me Spent today fixing the annoying bits I seem to never get around to doing. Now have a non blowing exhaust, a working speedo, and a working Temp gauge
  11. Sure did Darren You in your old white n' black Mex, the 2000 was still hibernating back then wasn't she. Met Bob in there the other week also which propted sorting the RS out. That Mex is a local car, flipping lovely and but rarely out and about. AVO Sunday?
  12. I'm looking forward to bumping into Ron on my commute, I'm gonna do him off the lights.
  13. Yep that was me I'd think. Loving driving to and from work in the old girl. If you see me again give me a wave, just try not to crash!! The Mex in the picture is totally stunning. Restored 20 years but still fresh as a daisy.
  14. Yeah chap the 2000 is mine. Commuting into Beddington at the moment so yeah most likely me. I'm trying to acknowledge everyone who waves, smiles or gives me the thumbs up. Where were you?
  15. So comuting in the old girl at the moment and just getting close to home and bump into this...... Don't know if you post on here Mike but good to meet you again, wonder when the last time 2 Modena AVO cars randomly bumped into each other
  16. Thinking of going.... will be a last minute thing though. Soooooo busy at the moment Any convoys from Surrey?
  17. Yep that was the one. Lovely car and bound for Oz in the next few days.
  18. Yep cheers Ben and the boys. Did the bubble arched cossie powered Mk1 RS2000 turn up? I directed them in from Reigate as they were a bit lost.
  19. Was the roll bar mod done as an option? Nice to see another Modena 2000.
  20. Anyone running a 2" drop on the front of a RS2000 on standard suspension and tyre sizes? If so what poundage springs? 190's Back end of the old girl has sagged more than mine over the years and she's sitting far to nose high a the moment. Could raise the back up but where's the fun in that!
  21. So a new waterpump and some fettling and then took her for a MOT on Saturday. PASSED WITH FLYING COLOURS AGAIN Took her into work this morning, you forget how much attention these old Fords get. Looking forward to using her a bit over the next months.
  22. That's cock on fella but hey you know that
  23. Ha ha my garage isn't called Midnight Motors for nothing!!! 'Company' moto of 'PISSINF OFF THE NEIGHBOURS SINCE DAY ONE' sums it up really. Once spent a full night changing the clutch in a RS Turbo the night before driving down to Le Mans. The smell of stale beer, pizza, and fags really wasn't pleasent 5 days later when we got home...... Great weekend though.
