    New Project

Well yesterday I had a go at getting the broken stud out of the block on the Anglia.... No good, still not moving, so after throwing another fit in the garage, I have decided that the engine is coming out. Also I started stripping out the interior, so all the seats have come out. I found that someone must have welded the rear arches with the back seat in, because the base of the seat is all burnt!!! So the project has started, after owning the car for 3 months, its all ready coming off the road to be played with, hope to have a 1700cc x-flow with twin forties producing around 130bhp. Reverse pedal box and quickshift kit from Milton. All the interior is being stripped out, the inside is going to be painted and then just 2 Cobra Cup Classic seats with harnesses inside, no carpet, stripped out racer look.... Should be wicked when its finished!!!

  17. Finally got round to getting under Hoobs and having a poke about as to what damage I did on the way back from Ashford Diner at the beginning of the month when the fanbelt went... What do I find but the alternator/bracket that is normally held in by 2 bolts to the block is being held in by one, no problems I tell myself I will just get a new bolt and whack it in. Nope, one of the bolts nearest the rad has sheared off inside the block, I can screw another bolt in, but only 2 or 3 turns before I hit the old broken bolt, I can't get a drill in there to drill out the old bolt, what can I do?? Having a look at it, it seems to me to be the only option left is to take the engine out in order to get to the bolt hole, any advice from anyone would be helpful, its a 1600 x-flow.....

    whats everyone

Bummer mate, sorry to hear that
  24. The following piccies are taken from the internet and are of a Mk4 or 5 (i can't remember which one) Escort. This car was one of 60 + cars/HGV's and coaches that were involved in a RTA on the A20 at Dover. I was one of the officers that attended the scene and dealt with the aftermath. Maybe a lesson to us all to slow down when in fog. The driver of this vehicle saw stationary vehicles in front of her, she stopped behind a chemical tanker, but a Transit behind her slammed into her at around 60-70mph, this then caused other vehicles to crash into the vehicle's behind her, each one causing more and more damage!! The images above show the damage caused to the car, the following image shows the drivers area, you can make out the bottom of the A post and the end of the dashboard. The white powder was what was contained in the Tanker and was found to be non-toxic. The driver of this car only suffered a broken pelvis, bone sticking out of her knee and cuts and grazes
