  1. I'ld be interested to know what's up Mike. The TCA's have been on for about 10 years and the anti-tramp bars for about 7 - 8.
  2. Nice looking Retro Renault you've got there but I bet the plate's worth flogging to a Porky owner.

    the news

Our industrial estate were done last week. The guy next door was working on his own with his radio on and with the doors open and was told to pay up or go to court,he told them to f*ck off.He was told that he would have to pay and it would be backdated 10 years.WTF? This week there has been no music played by anybody,it's so quiet it's creepy but we're only small companies and can't afford to spend hundreds of pounds on this new music tax.. I only used to listen to music at work so from now on I'll not be able to hear new artists or new tracks by anybody so won't be buying any CDs anymore,I hope they're proud of themselves.T*ssers.
  4. Would have been funny if the guy had been showing a prospective buyer what his Beemer could do.
  5. Spark & Plug
  6. According to my Haynes book a 1600 x-flow takes 3.96 litres including oil filter.
  7. wow there cheap lol! £465 +VAT for rods edit: damm 'Min order 16 rods' £895 crank thanks m8 Have a look on E-bay for the steel rods and cranks as both SPC and IkEngineering sell on there and they're the same. I bought mine off IkEngineering and they're top quality, fantastic engineering.Made in the US I believe so why they are so cheap compared tp British ones. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/I-K-Engineerin ... 18Q2el1247 To keep on topic I would reccomend a Holbay R120 cam, real torquey.
  8. When people take the piss out of me having an Anglia I agree with them but explain that because I have an old driving licence, one of the green ones, that I'm only allowed to drive old cars. It's surprising how many people believe me.
  9. Mike, I'm running 1600E struts and yours don't look the same. The steering arms are different and the shape of the strut where it meets the stub axle.I would say yours are Classic. Pauln, Nice brakes you've got there.Pics saved for future reference.
  10. Put some pics up of the stuts Mike, maybe someone can identify them. The calipers should be P16's,the imperial version of the M16's,if you know what I mean. I intend to fit S*erra XR4i discs and Mondeo calipers to mine but have not got around to it yet, maybe over the winter.
  11. The rear brakes are definatetly 1600 Sport ones Mike.
  12. Quite a big difference there Mike but I can't shed any light on what's going on. I would still swear blind that they were XR2 but I guess they're not.
  13. WTF??? When I did the conversion I used the discs & calipers off an old XR2 that my mate had,I even took them off the car myself and once I was happy with it I replaced them with new ones. Where the hell have the RS discs come from? How do they differ from the XR2 ones? I'm really confused here Mike.
  14. Glad they were only little problems that were soon sorted. You'll be ok. Just out of interest how come you changed the discs? Were they worn out or have you upgraded to a better spec?
  15. Ah!!! My bad,the picture lies.
  16. You could have re-newed your tax from as early as the 15th of May and your new tax disc would still have started on the 1st of June. Did you not get the reminder off DVLA,it tells you all about it on there.
  17. I know how you feel mate. The crossflow in my Anglia came out of an Escort. The sump has been cut up and welded to convert it from rear to front well but the dip-stick hole is still in the rear of the block so I have no idea how much oil is in it.
  18. Lying in the sun and being blown off on a beach sounds good to me.
  19. Coilovers have adjustable spring seats so you can raise or lower your car as much as you like.See pic. 30mm is probably just a reccomended amount.
  20. My tax runs out at the end of this month as well and I've just re-newed it via the DVLA website and the new tax starts on the 1st of June. I have no idea how you think you're going to lose a month.
  21. It was p*ssing down wih rain here to. I went for a drive in the Anglia because there was fuel in the tank and when I got back I fixed the wipers so they actually wiped the screen, result. Oh! I got soaked as well.
  22. I'm building a BDR for my Anglia saloon. To keep the costs down I'm doing it myself.......for a laugh. I know it would be easier and cheaper to build another x-flow or a Zetec and get more power and better reliability but I'm addicted to it and can't help myself. If I get 170bhp out of it I'll be over the moon and if it lasts longer than a few hundred miles I'll be surprised.
  23. My old Anglia van used to run 15.3's at 94mph all day long with a x-flow of similer spec to above and that was with a 3.54 diff and Nangkang tyres. Lighter than an Escort but as aerodynamic as a brick.
  24. With that spec engine I would aim for mid 15's but it's only when you're hitting mid to low 13's that you can really say you've got a fast car, imho of course.
  25. I had huge plans for my Anglia including new engine, suspension and paint job but the cam belt went in my Transit on Sunday so I need a new engine or a new van and then on Monday the Anglia failed it's MOT but until the Transit is sorted I can't do anything with the Anglia. I am mega p*ssed off this week.
