  1. Want it for my garage, but same problems with lack of cash...
  2. Local to me (3 miles) D.T Mathewson, Thornton Le Dale, North Yorkshire. I have nothing to do with said garage or the car... drove past it the other day and enquired... thought you lot might like to know about it... http://www.mathewsons.co.uk/auction_cat_.htm 1970 1600GT XL 13000 miles from new. I've had a good look round it and it has been painted at some point. I think they're looking around £7 to £8K.
  3. definately type 9 5 spd, but I'd say it's a Sierra one as they are angled back further than the Capri ones.
  4. Been there done that... did the whole lot on my Pinto for £93. best thing I've ever done to it. I took alot of convincing at first, but once I got on with it and actually did it, I wondered why I was so sceptical... absolutely fantastic piece of kit, and so easy to do too.
  5. I got a 750g Toblerone from my soon to be ex wife and my 2 kids not much for 6 years of marriage From my brother I got a number for my new house Mum bought me a Lotus Cortina... sadly not a real one... it apparently wouldn't fit under the tree , but the Revell Limited ed. Jim Clark slot car My lass got me a voucher for our favourite Cantonese I treated myself to a Sony 8GB mp3 player... been saving up my dole money. I lost my job 8 weeks ago, so Christmas was virtually cancelled this year. Anyway, looking forward to blasting the Cortina around with my GT40''s when I can get my scx track back
  6. Fly did a great range of Gp5 Capris... got a few of them now: Go these limited edition Scalextric GT40's last year: When my house is built, I'll have a full time setup in the loft
  7. cam belt is fine mate. You been talking to Pete since Scotch Corner? lol... It was a tad "slack", I mean, I've seen alot worse, but it was sorted within 10mins of getting home and checked a week later. Strangely enough, it had only done about 1000 miles since new by scotch corner time... sadly, when the engine was rebuilt, they put on a cheaper belt than I had put on originally. It does get checked every 1000 miles or so, but I think I'm going to replace it soon with a higher performance one as this one seems to be stretching too much for my liking. I have got my eye on it for now though...
  8. New front brakes for the 2.1: Bare hub: Inner bearing outer race and insertion tool: Race located on tool: Squeeze hard: Outer race seated correctly: Repeat for outer bearing and other hub... Races fitted to hub... studs ready to fit: Wheel stud fitting using spacer tube: Studs fitted: Complete kit: Complete kit with flexis: Old M16's: Removed: Drill out to 10.5mm for bolts to pass though (my Rubicon): Bracket fitted with 3mm spacers to strut: Different angle of above: Modified hub fitted: 260x24mm disk: Newly painted calliper going on (starting to look purposeful): Looking good: Look a lot better than the old M16's through the Compos
  9. Will do mate... got them fitted yesterday... slightly disappointing reults though... I mean they are better, but I was expecting more... time will tell... only done 12 miles with them, but at least it now brakes in a staright line and the 16mm extra track is nice.
  10. very nice Andy I'm doing the exact same thing with the brakes on my 2.1 tomorrow (easter monday). I'm going to be using the 23.8mm Granny MK2 master cyl.
  11. 2.1 Laser... originally a 1.6. owned 13 years now: 2.8i Turbo Technics... long term rebuild project... 7 years and counting:
  12. looks like it's a popular thing then... I must say that the Megajolt and EDIS4 system on mine has been absolutely fantastic as I'm still running a 38DGAS, and at just less than £100 to do the whole lot, it has been excellent value for money... saved that in fuel in under a year.
  13. I've been running on the Megajolt Lite Jnr. system with Ford EDIS4 on my 2.1 Capri for nearly a year now with great results... Just wondering if there are any others doing similar. I know some of you may consider it to be a bit "new skool", but the benefits of the system for me were enormous.
  14. I know YUK quite well... got my 2.1 lump and GP1 head from him a few years back... just down the road from me too. As said... top bloke, old skool to the bone.
  15. was great to meet up with you all again, and meet some new Ford nuts... can't wait for the next one. Think it's going to be May time... I will have to contact Andy and find out. Sadly, my gearbox decided to start leaking again on the way there... losing about an egg cup full a day now, which is slightly annoying (massive understatement there), having just spent over £200 having the leak fixed the Monday before the SC meet It's a Ford... if it don't leak, it's empty lol
  16. Was a great day. the Transit Camper and the MK1 Capri belong to good mates of mine. the lad with the Camper also has a MK1 Capri in Daytona yellow. The green MK1 is a 3000GXL. The current owner picked it up for £900 just over 18 months ago...
