  1. Always late to the conversation but I'm in the same boat/garage/shed this year, my current thoughts are to try one of the storage bubbles that constantly draws air through in combination with a dehumidifier, I'm lucky that its a brick built garage & hopefully won't see big changes in temperature + I'm also putting those granule packs inside the car to try to catch any condensation. I do like the idea of those heaters.... In other years I had one of those Clark portable garages & used a good quality outdoor cover, the car did ok but some suspension bits & the gearbox casting picked up some orange spots, not the end of the world but it did show how much the temps did vary.
  2. That should work, I might look at that instead of the lump of plate on mine
  3. Here's a couple on/off the car although looking more closely when its on I suspect a towing strap would rub the front panel depending on the angle - it might need a rework! it's approx 4mm thick.
  4. I've got a metal plate that bolts through the bumper iron bolts but on the engine bay side, it looks like a DIY job from the previous owner. I can get a photo if you want as its off the car at the moment.
  5. Good news! I saw a load of ssl issues yesterday & received a holding page - figured it was part of the move
  6. Great photos, slightly annoying I didn't get there although there's another one in March and ouch! food is nearly a expensive as the ticket to get in!
  7. Cheers guys, I plan to be a bit more active on the forum generally as I always seem to come back to wanting a MK1 or MK2 Escort - I guess after owning/building/breaking 7 in 20 yrs I ought to know that by now! Yeah Savvi, plenty of bits both fast road/motorsport and standard, trim bits, glass, lights, wheels. spoilers, grilles, dash tops - quite shocking when you pull it all out of the various stashes. I would say pm me if you're on the look out for something in particular but that could open the flood gates!
  8. It's been a long time since my last visit to OSF so I thought I should to do the new boy introduction thing! I think I was last here about 2008/09 but sadly the GRP4 MK2 build had to be abandoned at a significant loss but I know it's whereabouts (Woking somewhere) I still fancy a MK1 escort Mex but realistically that could be a couple of years away. The other reason I'm back (and all the regulars hate you for it!) is to move on all of the MK2 Escort bits I've collected since the early 90's - I figured that as this was one best forums it makes sense to offer this stuff to the regulars via sales & the 'bay. It's an absolute mission to get it all together & I'm not even half way though the garage! It's frustrating to have sell up but realistically my health is not going to let me build another car Don't PM me yet if you're looking for something, I'll compile a list & have a chat with Posse etc on how best to put this stuff on! Cheers, Jay
  9. Check out this placing 3rd in events agains Mallock & Pilbeam single seaters..... big respect!
  10. For that money it'd have to be mint underneath with the right interior & an atmo YB or pukka pinto....
  11. anything between 1 & 1.5mm is fine, shouldn't need any bending either - I've one in the garage thats completely flat. Might be worth making up blanks for the gaps inside the rear quarters. Seal & rivet & you're good to go
  12. Bought mine in the states for $30 made by budge - elasticated, eyelits, shower proof, if you know someone going out there then get one http://www.budgecarcovers.com/Duro-Car-Cover.html
  13. Yep, there's got to be plenty of us in the s'arf to get enough numbers, maybe see if the TS boys n girls are up for it. I reckon a setup / shakedown / test day might be a decent idea too esp if we could convince some of the pro's to come along with their setup gear/wares...
  14. Don't fret gordy, you'll have a mate to play on the roundy roundy stuff next year! (if I ever an axle....)
  15. My old mans sprint car runs on unleaded with an octane booster to lift it to about 102, no problems at all. The big giveaway to a problem is the exhaust valve clearances closing up on a head without inserts
