  1. I work in Ilkeston so weather permitting I'll go to work in the Mustang and get along after work. Darren
  2. Thanks for the nice comments guys I dont, but I have a friend who lives in Mansfield with a yellow 1970 Mach 1. Have you seen one around??
  3. Thought I would post some pics of my 1967 Mustang 390 GTA after I gave it its first wash of the year. Over the last year I have replaced the original drums with power discs and fitted a new 2.5" stainless steel exhaust. She now sounds awesome Anyway, here's a few pics -
  4. Went to get the cambelt changed on the 16i today and couldnt resist taking a couple of pics of the garage owners RS2000 alongside my RS1600i I told him it was about time there was a proper RS on the premises
  5. I know I'll be shot down in flames for this, but the Mk1 Capri project may be for sale soon as I have purchased another car, and the GF is going mad I've always wanted one, and this came up for sale locally and I couldnt not go and have a look She is a 1983 RS1600i, my first car was a 1983 1.6 Ghia, but this is the one I always wanted (and in black!). I'll let you know what I decide to do with the Capri, but here's a few pics of the RS
  6. Welcome to OSF mate, like the Capri Makes me miss my old 2.8 though
  7. Just been browsing the Burton catalogue and noticed they do refurbed calipers for Capri's for £95. Mine have seized after 10 years of no use. The plan was to get a refurb kit for them, but I am tempted just to get some refurbished ones. Is £95 a good price or can I get them cheaper elsewhere?? Thanks Darren
  8. I've got the Mustang on display inside, say hello if you see me. I'll probably be wearing my Steve McQueen Gulf jacket
  9. Here's my fav arse pic
  10. Had to laugh at some fat ex footballer who said he used to have a '2.8 Sport'. What a twat
  11. Olympic Blue. Stunning colour on a Mk1 (or Mk1 Capri )
  12. I went to a photoshoot in the Mustang last November for American Car World magazine. Well, after nearly 1 year of waiting it finally came out last week. Here's the pics from the article which I'm well chuffed with The blue Mustang is a friends identical '67 390 GTA. Please dont laugh at the cheesy pose on the last pic. We were made to do it
  13. I think whats OSF and whats not is down to idividual opinions. I was looking for a Mk3 XR3i before I got the Capri. I know FWD is classed as 'modern', but if the Fiesta is OSF, why cant a 24 year old Escort be??
  14. I'll hopefully be there with the Mustang on display inside If anyone goes, say hello, would be good to meet a few off the forum. Wasnt sure I would be going but I could do with getting some bits for the Capri. Having the stang on display gets me in to get some goodies before the show opens aswell
  15. Still the mustang was not for general sale in the UK unlike the Escort . Not old skool . The Mustang was officially available in the UK in '67. I know someone who has a '67 vert that was an official import.
  16. I've just recieved the log book for the Capri so I went straight down the PO to SORN it. Although it had not been taxed for 10 years, the previous owner never had a SORN request Even if its tax exempt, you still have to SORN it though. When your ready to retax it, just pop down the PO and fill a new form out. Quite simple really
  17. Weather permitting, I'm hoping to finish spraying the engine bay tomorrow and start putting the engine back together. However, I'm restoring it to original spec and was wondering if a 1974 facelift would have had any decals like the negative earth and coolent warning decals I've seen on Mk1 Escorts. If anyone knows, or can put me onto a website that does, it would be much appreciated Darren
  18. I've filled it up with some bleach with hot water. I'll give you a progress report shortly
  19. I'm cleaning up all the engine bay accessories during the engine bay tidy up on the Capri. I've removed the washer bottle but it is badly stained inside. Any ideas on what to use to clean it?? I've always used Autosol chrome cleaner to do the outside so thats not a problem. Thanks Darren
  20. Thanks guys Well it looks like I'm keeping it then I'm keeping the car as original, so I suppose I should keep it anyway. Another bonus is it will be cheaper when its resprayed Darren
  21. Got thinking the other day about removing the vinyl roof on the Mk1. She will be going for a full respray in Olympic Blue in the spring but just cant decide what to do with the vinyl roof. The vinyl is dark blue and in good nick. I could do with some help to decide What are peoples opinions Here's a pic as she is now
  22. Looking good mate, you cant beat a nice shiny V8 either
  23. Here's a couple of my favourite 'arty' pics I took last year of the Mussy.
  24. Single figures around town, 14mpg on a run if I'm lucky. I worked out the cost to go to Le Mans next year but it will be cheaper to hire a private jet Not to worry, smiles per £ is excellent though
  25. Excellent news Lets hope Top Gear is back on our screens soon aswell
