i take you wanna be an apprentice mechanic well as it happens i am group parts manager for grays truck and van (on slyfield ind est) and i believe we are looking for a fresh intake of apprentices for our service division (two sites in guildford) so do yourself a favour and give our service manager dave turner a ring it might turn up trumps for you mate.we are an iveco truck and a transit backbone dealer. i can`t promise coz it aint under my jurisdiction but its gotta be worth a shot. good luck anyways chris.

fb=fiesta vb=transit thats the model range but parts do swap betwixt models and the two digits i.e. 84 fb means that particular part was introduced in 1984 simple for a sad old git like me. chris

605 were just run of the mill parts mate,introduced early 80`s and applied to parts from fiesta to transcontinental no sequence or model involved just the range of numbers ford moved to after running out of space with the 14.......15...... 16....... 17......... sequence.as you say 90...........were mainly rs accessory parts 50........were mostly std accessory parts but later used on the "motorcraft" branded parts when they were marketed by `enry in the 80`s. boring but true. chris

the warm up reg controls the amount of fuel delivered to the engine during warm up period,controlled by a bi-metallic strip which essentially closes the passageway for fuel which due to its own built in heater element or heat from the warm engine closes the fuel ways via a spring/plungerand therefore stops the extra fuel neede for cold starting purposes. so i would say your probs lay else where ......... i would`nt mind betting the fuel filter is choked and the continuous running is causing it to clog up entirely then settle when you turn her off. failing that your air/fuel mix is all wrong and if the simple things prove to be ok then it will need addressing on a proper machine as they can be a pig to get right. shout if all else fails mate. or for help in understanding the workings of the bosch k-jetronic system go to any search engine and type in bosch k-jetronic and choose the auto-solve option. chris

£152 a year.fully comp.£200excess.£15k agreed valuation.3000 miles.p.a. and didn`t even query the fact it`s turbo`d as fords offered the turbotechnics engines through their dealer network so technically it aint modded?and they loved the fact i`d had a tracker fitted as well. oh and the fact i`m a tad over 40.lol.might have something to do with it.

and being such a sunny day i decided to have the afternoon off and go find some gatso`s whilst having in a blap in the capri.thought i`d start with the surrey boys fave one up the a3 just before tolworth where it goes 3 into 2 and hey presto 1k before up pops the warning on screen and the voice alert as well and even counts you down to it, so job done i went back down the a3 and across to the avarage speed check one on the lightwater by-pass once again it did its stuff so i think its a couple of hundred quid well spent. it apparently will detect "plod" with a hand held as well,that`ll save a few few points hopefully. chris

my capri 280 t/t was three months over due and boy was it worth the wait my baby encountered a whoile host of set backs in the end all little probs were ironed and i`m now like a dog with two willies. chris. -

i used it all the time in mine and hers 2.8`s shawn ma boy. switched to semi- synthetic now though in the t/t.

i cut my teeth on o.s.f. trucks d-series a-series transits and transcons started at a ford dealer in 1977 as an apprentice,the a-series was a bastardised mother of a mid range vehicle oh and that 6 cyl "york" diesel what a pig.lol chris
