  11. He reckoned his gear was worth about 8 grand in total!!! That was taken with a 10 foot ally pole held on the roof by 3 suction cups, i was only moving about 3 mph but he was using a really slow 'shutter' speed. Really clever but very simple. The pole is later photoshopped out of the image. your car looks amazing mate here's the photographer from retro cars, jon cass, setting up one of those poles on my car. the car has yet to featured in the mag

  19. there's a few different ones, i'm not sure which size mine is? is the number on the side of the master cylinder important? it's 74666220 if it helps! i think i might have to take it off first and make sure by taking it to a friendly local garage, he might be able to get the parts for me or even a new master cylinder. still need to get a bleeding kit though
  20. yeah, the paint's dissapeared from the chassis rail on mine too i'm gonna have a go at re-furbing it myself first but pastparts is a very useful place to know, thanks
  21. cheers for that mate can't find them on their website but is the kit on ebay the thing i'm looking for? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Escort-Brake ... m153.l1262 edit: just noticed that it's for ATE & mines girling
  22. been looking this job up on t'net & haynes manual, looks like i don't have to bleed the entire system? just attach a bleeding kit to a bleed screw & pump the brake pedal till the reservior and cylinder are empty. take the master cylinder off, replace the seals, master cylinder back on, fill reservior up with brake fluid, bleed it through the system till there's no air bubbles & bob's yer aunties live in lover! please tell me that's the way to do it cos it sounds like not too bad a job as long as i don't spill any brake fluid (how much will i need btw?) p.s. sorry for being such a newbie

  24. cheers for the quick responses people, i'll have to buy a brake bleeding kit then, i've never done it before is it just a matter of replacing seals and filling the system back up then?
