  1. Some years ago I restored a Mk2 Escort. I also heavily modified a Mk1 Escort while using it. I then built a very rapid Mk1 Estate. (pictured 4 years ago after running out of fuel) These were built in my garage, at home. While this was happening I was helping with, or at least aware of, many more. Not all Escorts but Capri's, Anglia's and Transits especially. Currently the Estate is partially disassembled to repair several annoyances and I know of 1 other project in a home(ish) garage. Discuss
  2. I run a Swapmeet, mostly Ford based. Been a few years since the last one, as the Hall was being used as a covid centre. Anyway. Anyone turning up in an Old Skool Ford (or any old Skool really) gets free admission. There will be a wee report in Classic Ford Magazine and in Irelands Irish Vintage Scene mag. Feel free to ask questions. Cheers, Alan.

  6. Gorgeous car buddy. I'll never forget the 2 old boys decide it wasn't a runner at the show in the old army barracks. No wires to be seen like.... The faces on them when you drove out [emoji846][emoji846][emoji846] Sent from my SM-A202F using Tapatalk
  7. Beautiful car. My favourite of the Mk1's. Is yours the type with a 2 dial dash and a pod recounted? Or 6 dial. Not that it matters, I am merely curious [emoji41] Sent from my SM-A202F using Tapatalk

  9. That's was a great find. It's looking real well now. If you are modifying it, dont do anything permanent I reckon as the original car will be worth more eventually. Sent from my SM-A202F using Tapatalk

  13. It now looks like this sadly. I had a severe accident. It suffered a lot of neglect as I couldn'tlook after her. Then it had a series of people I paid to work on it that did poor or shoddy work. Eventually I rattle can painted it black to suit my mood. Now I am slowly working through the thing including changing the carburation, softening the suspension, fitting power steering and windows, lots of sound proofing, a headliner, led lights, an entirely new paint colour and a little welding. 16. I know! I'm sorry. Its like this. I removed a standard deepdish steering wheel from the estate and fitted a springalex. Not someone I know wants it and I've no idea what its worth! There are none for sale on ebay etc and a trawl of google didnt help. I dont have a centre cover and it needs a bit of paint but its in good nick. The one below is off t'internet

  19. Trial fit. 2017-09-28_12-21-45 by quickrack, on Flickr
  20. So. Trials and tribulations. The car wont start. Comp test says all is good. Fuel is flowing. Plugs tested in a lawnmower show spark. Eventually discovered the dizzy is working intermittently which is so hard to find. Got a replacement module but it didn't work on my dizzy! Got a dizzy from a mk2 Fiesta now. Also borrowed a LYNX intake manifold off a mate. I am sort of trial running this instal as he will fit it in his own car this winter or spring. My intake is for a 1300 and the carb 32/34 wont fit. Collecting a new manifold soon though. IMG_20170925_162812_256 by quickrack, on Flickr I also tidied the garage a bit with some wood rescued from a skip.
