I got the Granny MOT'ed yesterday, the garage owner always takes it down the road for a bit of nostagia. One of his mechanics came in and asked if it was my car, i said yeah, the usual, 'i havent seen off those....etc'. He then said he is stripping a Capri down to fit a V8 in and has a T9 V6 gearbox going for £60! Bargain as my is tits up & i have been looking for the past two months for a replacement....happy days or what! CF show is looking more of a reality now!!! cool & the gang

Tow bars are on an MOT now, ensuring all is tip top on a 30 inch diameter of the fixing point.

Input shaft is longer by about a half inch on the v6 box,the ratios are better with the 2.8 box too Cheers for that. I have having a mare trying source a V6 box, ebay isnt coming up with the goods. Cheers for your help

What are the obvious differnce between a V6 and a OHC T9 box? are the spines different so it dont fit a V6? I am sure the ratios are diferent too. I am after a T9 for the Granny. I have one but it is wining a treat in third gear. Cheers

I have just gone from auto to manual in the Granny. I have a snag with the reversing light, i have tried to rewire it and the starter motor spins constantly - WTF! I am clearly doing some thing wrong here! Any ideas out there?

The Shutters is still going, it hasn't changed at all. The GS has closed down, it was like a time bomb of food safety!! lol i've just had the granny changed to manual but the thrust bearing is whining like mad. where do i get another one from in plymouth/areas. i havent looked/asked about yet as i was only an hour ago i picked the car up. have you got any thoughts/ideas so i can get this sorted out. i am back to sea in a week for 4 weeks, then back to guzz, so there wont be much time to get her sorted as i want to get up to silverstone & of course the FF in June. cheers Scott

I spend a fair bit of time at sea (like i am now), we are no where exciting at the present, well if you think Portland is exciting, fair enough, you do have the Green Shutters but that's another whole different thread! I was wondering how much time do you dedicate yourself to your OSF. I have not much to be honest, even though the mileage remains low i would prefer to drive her when i want! If any ex/serving members are on site, stop by this tread & drop off a short story. I know vista was an old "Jack me 'arty" back yonder!

I will endevour to change that! I am away at sea at the moment but i got good news last night the Granny is now converted to manual and with a 40mm drop! I cant wait to get back to Plymouth and pick her up. I have a set of Cosworth rims that need a bit of a clean up,(an evening job) that will look nice tucked under those chrome arches!! I will get some pics when i get home & of course get them on the number one FORD site!!! I just hope the gear box is good as i really want to use her for long distance. It's all very exciting stuff!!
