For god sake, my mum moved me from the nicest place in the world. My home, Wield ! Beautiful little village, nothing much going on, piece and quiet, gorgeous roads, knew everyone....It was the the round ones ! So i moved to guildford, And i hate it ! Just to fast, too many people, too much noise, just everything i hate ! So then i hear were going to move back towards where i used to live.....I WAS SOOOOOO HAPPY !!!! I said "mum, you've made my year ! i was so happy, walked round proud as punch for weeks !!! I said, anywhere's good. Just as long asa it's not basingstoke, i'm happy to move anywhere ! So we found a fookin lovely house, in the village next to my old one. It was sooo nice !!!! Then we got told that the c"unt who owned it wouldn't accpet it becouse he had a phobia of cats, and we've got a cat. SO MY MUMS BAUGHT A HOUSE IN King BASINGSTOKE !!!!!!!!! I'm so fooked off ! And i just want to go out on my bike and go for a ride, BUT my bike got nocked over at work today and it broke my brake lever off, and the bak brakes don't work !!!!! So i can't relly ride it. And i've got to stay in the house, trying not to tell her i hate her and she's fooked up my life until i move again ! I know it seems like a small thing and i should be happy to have a roof over my head, But i always thaught we moved to guildford becouse my sister lived here, and now my sisters moved to basingstoke !!!!!! 60's a good speed for a healthy fs1e, mines got a yb100 cylinder and will do 90 if i lie on the tank !!!!!!!!!!!! Brakes don't work very well though Anyone else had fizzie's when they were young ? Jarrod

Ha ! It took alot of money/time/patience/putting up with piss taking/it's probably not worth it becouse it's early 80's rather than 70's so they value will be less even though it's the same bike as a 70's one, the fact it's a 1980 makes it a pikey one.....Wich is a shame ! Just maxxed out my card on a new clutch actuator, genertor cover, seat and snap on tool box (for college !) so i'm REALLY happy now !!!!!!! Is it an old gas gas ? ? ? Jarrod

Yeah ! Thanks, It's prety cool ! It's got a YB100 cylinder in it so i really flies now. It's Red oxide, then grey primer, then hammerite smooth black, then a coat of clear, then metal flake, then a clear coat, then another coat of metal flake to g ive it depth, then another 5 clear coats, then i flatened it down, then i put o n another 5 clear coats.......It's like glass, it took 4 days to spray, then 2 days to harden....... I used to call it the yellow dream machine, now everyone calls me the tart Jarrod

Ha ! my internets been down so i couldn't post on here for the past few days..............................Wich isn't a bad thing !!!!! Not the best thing to say in front of me............. The reason everyone has such low opinions of rat rods is becouse there narrow minded, have only seen cheap shit hot rods that are ment to be rat rods............AND BECOUSE THEY GET THE HOODRIDE SCENE MIXED WITH THE RAT ROD SCENE !!!!!! The bus in the pics above has been on the streets for years, i've got an old issue of volksworld thats got a pic of that bus, when it was a show stopper, mint paint, nice stance and little BRM wheels............ It's true, it takes time and dedication to build a true rat rod. You can't just wake up and say "Today i'm going to make a rat rod." You need to live life a certain way otherwise you will lose interst and will rush. A rushed rat rod is a shit hot rod. Wich is why people have such ow opinions of rat rods. Time = Patina ! Patina = a good Rat Rod ! Surely everyone knows an old boy who's had his motor from new, but something makes his car a little bit cooler ? Why should i feel embarissed about the facts of building a rat rod. I've already started, and when i'm 30 i'm going to have a car like no one elses. I feel imensly proud of my car, but it makes me feel real good when i'm having a shit day to know that my car's never going to be finshed, It's just going to get better ! Jarrod

My 100e with a fully tuned sidevalve is SOOOO reliable, With a little bit of knowledge on how and when it will run it's easily maintainable and fast enough for what i want it for. Fair enough my dad uses the car but i'm the one that keeps it running Jarrod

That Tinas the nuts As for "They look shit and unloved." I have no comment to that, But what i will say is my 100e is loved, it is the single most important item in my life. I would do anything to protect that car, and will do what ever it takes to keep it on the road. Where it belongs. My car may look "shit and unloved" but it is that way becouse It is driven every day, it lives outside with nothing but duck oil to keep it safe. It is a used car and will remain a used car, not hidden away in a garage and polished. Fair enough i T cut it and wash it etc when it looks real shitty, but at the end of the day it's my car and i don't give a fook if someone thinks it looks shit or unloved. Jarrod

This post has really seriously fooked me off ! A rat rodded vw is refered to as "Hoodride" www.hoodride.com A Rat rod isn't a style or brand, it's a lifestyle. and most "ratrods" are shit becouse there ment to look like rat rods, not the real thing ! Anything can be a rat rod with time and preservation. The reason most rat rods are matt black is becouse it's is the cheapest easiest cover for red oxide ! Rust is not a crime !!!! Rant over. Jarrod EDIT ! and it's not true about spray on rust, a talented air brusher can make anything look older, one of the tricks to making a shit rat rod is covering the body in pepsi (not coke !) and leaving it a few hours. Duck oil and time make a tu rat rod !
