I'll look at the GP5 BBS Alloys if I have time. I was working hard on the lighting, esxposure and textures. Here are some previews from a BIG render and a smaller version of the big render. Dave

Lots more tweaking and adjusting of the bodyshell. Testing with some spots, Lotus badges, more refined stripes and a choice of alloys. Dave

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. I don't know how many hours I have spent on this so far. Had many quiet afternoons around Christmas, then most evenings since Christmas Eve. Quite a lot. Not sure what colour "Goodwood Green" is ? Does anybody have a colour chart for the MK1 Cortinas ? Here is a new render, hot of the presses, with lots of wee changes and the start of the striping. I have one in white with Lotus green and steel wheels (early test render shown below, stripe not so good, bit fuzzy), but quite liked this Silver/dark white stripe colour scheme and wheels Dave

Thanks guys. Interesting Colour scheme. You're in luck. I was working on a Le Mans colour. So could quickly mock this up. Best get one built before someone else paints it like this ... Dave -
Haven't taken the MK1 out for a long time. But have now updated her to the latest software Created some new wallpapers : http://www.dmmultimedia.com/escort_04.htm Dave click to see full size (1200 x 750)

That's primarily down to the fact that was exactly what I set out to do. A retro interpretation rather than a modern design with a Capri badge. A clean sheet interpretation would create an all new design with a few little capri signatures, but otherwise follow modern design language - more pronounced creases/Sweeps which were not possible previously, cab forward, high sides, bonnet & boot, complex jewelry (light units etc.), crash/safety regulations, hatch, FWD etc. They are two distinct cars: Either a retro take (Think Mini, Mustang, S-Type) or an all new design (Think Jaguar XF). I just don't have enough hours in the day to try and create an all new design. It is "quite tricky". Dave

Here's a little view that wasn't on my website. It was the start if an X-Pack version with flared arches. Dave

I have done other models http://www.dmmultimedia.com Yes, here are some pics showing me starting on the front wing and some wire frames to show how I built it up. With careful positioning of the edges and a smooth modifier it gets to the smoothed clay versions you see. I also have a full 3D model in DWF format (requires a free viewer) that you could download and rotate ... if anyone is interested ? Here is the start, just starting to create the front wing/bonnet area. I grab an edge (or set of edges) and extruded them into another set of polys, and move the points around again, uisng the blueprints I set up as a guide. Slowly building up the shape, polygon by polygon : Little later on : early version before cutting out the doors/bonnet/boot : and as a clay render. Exactly the same idea when you put a real car in primer to check the smoothness of panels etc. Dave

Thanks guys, I am working away. Added front indicators, adjusted more body panels, added deep dish rims ... and a 60s colour. Trying to keep it mostly period - amazingly difficult to get into a 60s mindset without wanting to use garish colours, monster rims, huge exhausts, carbon fibre etc. First off want to make a real sleeper with period mods - so that those who are in the know, will instantly smile and understand. Posted this in another forum and the kids just don't get it - "old, boring car". What period mirrors were used ? I take it that mirrors were not standard ? Apart from the bullet mirrors, what other styles are period ? And any other suggestions for period accessories and mods ? Dave
