  1. wonderful. thats a good'n. in time i'm sure i can get mine to look half as nice. its nice to see. well done
  2. if the worse comes to the worse, you are gonna have to drill them out. but you can get a stud extractor and the wind into the stud left-hand thread so as they tighten up, they undo the stud. most auto factor shops do them. if its a nut, then hammer and cold chisel. you could also drill them out but have a new stud on standby......
  3. i believe that i read in practical classics about 8 months ago, that someone did rally a corsair. i'd have to check

  8. it'll be interesting to find out the outcome. let us know!!!! good luck
  9. by connecting coil straight to battery you will bypass ignition switch. so to switch off you would have to disconnect wire. you aint got a rev counter connected have you? a 4 cyl rev counter will not work on v6. by wire bypass, you solving whether starter or ignition system and where to look next
  10. why not connect battery to coil with wire then turn over and see what happens
  11. but by cranking over, the starter taking all battery and not leaving any for ignition. by flicking, the starter not allowed to grab all and as you let go, the power goes to ignition. maybe ignition barrel? a slight variation of what rustypup is sayin? how long car been 3.0ltr? have you taken battery off recently?
  12. it does sound like dodgy starter to me. taking all the juice. have you a spare to chuck on to try?
  13. sounds like starter taking all the juice from battery and not leavin any for ignition system. you could have bad earth - probable! failing that it sounds like either battery or starter had it. you could try checking/cleaning all earth straps especially where straps meet body/battery/engine. does it sound healthy when cranking over?
  14. count me in. it'll cheer the old bag up to go for a spin. best tart my yellow shed up for this and i use mine year round. i aint into having a car if i cant use it......
  15. to be honest, a lack of skills is a big hinderance . sell the 300e and buy a runner thats as mach as you can afford, skills can be got over time but like fbf said, it'll only rust whilst waiting for you to gain them. and get something you'd actually enjoy cruisin' in . fettering is easier.
  16. got to be done... if a job is worth doin.......

  18. most of that looks like escort/orion cvh gaskets like headset, head, sump and rocker gaskets. dunno what the rocker gasket is for (the one with 4 bolt holes on one side and 2 on other) maybe 3ltr essex??????
  19. oh and the lens looks like mk6 escort front drivers
  20. the chrome strip looks like a door strip off early cortina/escort, there is a spring ( poss door????), rear shocker from cortina/escort and gearbox from xflow or maybe pre-xflow. where did you get this stuff? best put it in ur boot and take it to ford fair. those who want these bits will know exactly what they are. pictures never look the same.....
