paul capri replied to robertthorpe90's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
just read and saw that. bad times. was going to email you to ask why your selling id take those videos of you doing burnouts and stuff from youtube lol anyway why are you selling mate? you replacing it? -
ill try, but I'm never usually that lucky to be let off

We are not "pro police" we are just not anti them like you appear to be. When I was 18 I too though all police were bent, referred to them as pigs and distrusted them etc etc................then I got a bit older and wiser and realised we'd be in a right pickle without them, especially after I'd travelled to a few countries where the police really were on the take and not to be trusted. The point is, that the forum is not to be used as a springboard for attacks on anyone, members or otherwise be it of a racist nature or against anyone in a particular job................ Except maybe northern monkey shandy drinkers I think thats well said and sums this all up. does anything more need to be said?
-
I can take things like a man, I just didn't realise how "Pro-police" you all are. In my area they are the absolute enemy, and they earn that reputation themselves for good reason.
-
lmao if only all coppers were like that If only indeed!
-
sounds like your one of them aswell mate (twat)

THANK YOU!! Someone that understands that not all police are fair! Maybe the coppers on this forum are? I don't know. Don't get me wrong, I've met some nice people in the police before (few and far between). BUT some are just power hungry know it all d1ck heads that probably got bullied at school which is why they joined in the first place. Unfortunatly on my occasion I'm came into contact with the latter type, and I did lose my temper with him. I was furious. Hitting him wasn't an option so I just lost it. No it didnt get me anywhere.... And it takes someone with a HUGE IQ to be able to point that one out... TWAT!

hmm well when it was on a completely empty round about on a wet sunday afternoon, no one around except for the police car which promptly arrived I think you'll find there was no risk of me killing a family of four. And when your doing 25mph sideways on a roundabout that is only for lorry turning and actually has no traffic its hardly dangerous. Its skillful Also when I did get stopped I addmitted what I did and apologised. It got me no where because the copper was an arrogant **** he took great pleasure in getting my car taken and having the valance ripped on the low loader. OH but doing burnouts at the lights is ok because all your doing is saying LOOK AT ME!!! GIVE ME A SECTION 59!!! do i drive dangerously? NO. Police should target the chavs who rally round busy housing estates where there are actually other cars/people. Controlled drifting in a car I value because I built it myself never hurt or even threatened anyone
-
yeh section 52 2 strikes and you're out.. bye bye car hello biiiig fine Setion 59, I've had 2. they take you car away on the second one and fine you £150. When i turned round to the pig and said your a ******* ***** and your all filth he did me for reckless driving aswell, I havnt got the summons yet but it will be 6 points and hello expensive insurance. a section 59 is nothing really, a friend of mine has totalled 18 in 3 years. He just keeps paying the fine and getting his car back. Drifting on the roads is still cheaper than track days. I dont tend to stop anymore though

since its getting cold, i start to remember how bad my capri heater is, and i start to envy my mates in L reg peugeots when there all nice and warm! How good is the heater in your old skool ford?

capri axle is the atlas. they are usually 52" wide and I believe they need shortening to 48". Im not sure what else is involved but its not a straight swap.
-
umm, NO

im doing it, just waiting on my hubs that im getting modified. longer wheel location ring is required otherwise wheel wobble is terrible. Im doing the gtr280 brake kit at the same time. http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... p?t=103718

I put a peter llyod system on my capri, it would be fine if the car was standard height and you never encountered speed bumps... the centre box bracket made it sit ridiculously low, and when you went over a bump it would hit the axle. I took it all off and welded a mount straight onto the centre box to make it sit as high as possible, I had to shorted the rear section and tighten the bend over the axle. Manifold is great, but system needs abit of modification to fit perfectly. Still, you get what you pay for, it was only about £80

A friend of mine just bought a 540i auto from auction which he paid about £500 for. He's putting the 4.4 litre all aluminium V8 in his 3 sieries coupe with an m5 gearbox. Using a custom exhaust and a chip hes expecting over 350 lb/ft of torque and 280 bhp. Hes broken the rest of the car and still made a profit so the engine is free plus hes got money from it! Essentially hes got far more power, better relaibility and less wieght than a cossie yb or boa. Oh and theres the noise.... Has this ever been done into an old skool ford? I saw a thread recently on BMW engined old fords and there was about 1 picture. Gotta be some more?

thats what I would have said. Although my capri that was originally made with no cat and ran on carbs was suppose to put out 1.2 on emmissions, 3 being max limit, she did 4.5. Lucky my MOT tester thought it was hilarious and passed it for me anyway! Speak to your local tester

That happens to me all the time. Its lucky my mrs is so understanding....not

i hope he takes it out and it gets rear ended

I started smoking over 2 years ago, I was on 20 a day, sometimes more, then about 4-5 months ago I was working on the capri all day and it was one of those days when everything went well and i didnt get stressed, I got to the evening without having had one, tried to see how long i could go, well managed up until now really, still get cravings tho and must admit ive had a couple since the day I stopped. They never taste how you remember them tho, after 2-3 weeks of not smoking the taste and smell isn't nice, but at stressful times you still find yourself wanting one. Havn't bought any since tho. Keep it up mate

Does this seem like a bargain to you? BORED COULDNT SLEEP...
paul capri replied to paul capri's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
big money really? O wel im happy, its all there and it was delivered to my door, better than saving a few quid and not actually knowing the engines history. Plus I've got shit loads of bits to sell im sure ill make money back. I wanted to do 45s mate but dont want to have to go to the hassle and expense of fitting a bias pedal box, especially since I've only just finished getting all the parts together for the caprisport 280 kit. There was a company at ford fair called chesterfield sports cars that do a bike carb kit which includes a mapable ECU and coil pack for the zetec and it can be used with the original brake set up He claimed that this engine was 170bhp at the flywheel at 6500rpm, and apart from the carbs, (obviously) its all fully standard. On mine I'm intending to get the ports opened out, match the head to the inlet manifold, get it skimmed with a set of higher lift cams should be about 220. Im in Dorset, would love to see you're car and get you to take me out in it to see what I can expect -

Got home after being out with mates at 12.30, went on here 'til 1.30 then decided to strip the zetec down.. its now 3.30 Couldn't use any airtools (compressor is abit antisocial) and tried hard not to scream and start swearing when i tw@ted my fingers after breaking a bolt loose on the bell housing.... but its done now. Should probably go to bed got to be up at 7 -

i know going to take me a fair while to get it sorted though -
Just had this dropped off by a mate, its 2.0 silvertop out of a 70'000 mile mundane-o ghia that was rear ended. It has everything left on it, including auto-matic gearbox, air-con pump, powersteering pump, injection system, loom, driveshafts, even the manifold and CAT are still on it!! Only going to need the bare engine for use in the capri but surely ill be able to make the most of the £170 i bought it for back wouldn't you think?
