For everyday (and night) use, I wouldn't bother- Mine came with square lights originally. They were shite. Especially compared to the round halogen ones I've got now. I'm not sure if you can get new ones or not, but I'm pretty sure you can't upgrade them at all (they're sealed units) so that's why I went for round (plus I preferred the round look)... Could be wrong, but hope that helps

That'll be me too, unless -I find more time and money -I stop being lazy -And it stops raining on my days off!! -
I'll be there from about 5ish too.... See you all then meet cruise beer can't wait!!!
-
I reckon if we're meeting at portsdown hill first then it needs to be a bit earlier... maybe 5pm onwards??? Problem is there's not a lot else to do, except eat burgers and check out cars- actually on second thoughts, that's plenty The Classic Cruise normally starts at 7.30 I think, and people start arriving at the car park about 6pm Check it out: http://www.solent-renegades.co.uk/southsea_cruise.asp and click this for photos from last month's

Sorry- wasn't having a dig (much!) I too had a metro as a daily driver, and at my first (and only) time at the pod I was beaten by a GTa on my bet run!!!! I had a really good day as it was. Let us know when the next one is and I'll try and get there, maybe even on time as well....
-
Yeah. Top day out, and lovely pub (never actually made it to Toat's cafe so missed the metro ). Great to meet some more OldSkoolers and put names to faces and cars etc.... Bring on the summer!!!!!
-
I'll try and make it along- might even drag me mate Jim and his car out for a drive. (just to show mine up even more...)

2K is what I want ideally, just thought it had been banned - nu-agane still sell it apparently and they do mail order - Thanks flyingbanana!! They even do paintmatching for no extra charge too. I might pop along burrfields to Express and see what they do there... Cheers for all the help

ta for the info. I was planning on doing the job myself as my gf's dad has a garage, compressor etc and did his MG some time ago- that still looks the nuts although it is garaged all year......

I think my mk1 escort was originally "Anchor Blue" in 1968. I think I'd like to keep it this colour really. So, does anyone know any decent (and cheap!) places to get this colour in cellulose? Preferably near Portsmouth... Also I heard you can't get 2-pack anymore??

Think his name is Rod Styles if I remember right- he was at the first or second round of the OSFDC last year. I'm still up for this!!!
-
Definitely. Count me in- should be a great laugh. 1. mk1nurburg (paul) 2. billc (bill)

Pompey cruise would be great - that's always a good turnout of classics. Think it's the third sunday of the month during the summer and loadsa quality cars. Would be good to meet at the hill then head into Southsea for the cruise (think it starts at about 7pm....) If you want pics from this weekend at portsdown hill: go to http://s154.photobucket.com/albums/s240/mk5jph/ to see mk5jph 's pictures... My camera wasn't workin, sorry- none from me.

Promised the girlfriend a nice trip to Brighton, maybe a bit of shopping too! Haven't quite explained the london bit or the early start yet though....

Aged 15 I got a mk2 4dr escort to learn to drive in the fields nearby. Paid £99 with £25 worth of tax left on it... Lasted okay til I broke the box practising clutchless changes I always preferred the mk1 look, then finally managed to scrape enough cash to get the one I have now about 5 years ago. Had plenty of tat in between- 2CVs, yugo, chevette, metro etc... Not going back there again- hooked for life now I think!
-
Had a reallly good time too- good mix of cars and people- One guy (Rod Stiles?) was there in a grey Anglia and he didn't even know the meet was going on!! Remember meeting him at the first OSFDC at Santa Pod and had a good chat. As always good to see the osfs out to play in the depths of winter, and put a few names/cars/faces/nicknames together - at least try anyway. Top night, roll on the warmer weather, oh yeah , and fixing broken heaters....

Mine got run over a few months ago- was the coolest thing since sliced bread though- she's the black one beating up the ginger tom cat....:

got this from the advanced motorcycyclists group in the south - seems quite informative about the tunnnel cameras: "there are now small undetectable specs cameras (average speed detection cameras) sited in both the north and south bore of the Blackwall tunnel. Apparently they are going live today. The speed limit for the tunnels are 30mph northbound and 40mph southbound. It would appear that Marlowe house have no knowledge of this and state it is TFL that have implemented it. Any offences for speeding through the tunnel would be raising funds of £100 per offence or £50 if paid promptly. They have not installed signs warning drivers of this speed trap and therefore would not be looking to hit drivers with a licence endorsement, just take the money from you. I shall leave the questions why they are doing this to you to answer;. My thoughts are purely of revenue collecting. Further enquiries are being made as we speak. Please be very careful if you or friends and family use the tunnel regularly. Also be mindful if you are patrolling the tunnel at any time Obtained from a source within the Metropolitan Police" Hope this is useful

I'll be up for this- just depends on the usual story of whether the car is up for it or not... In garage at the moment getting a few bits sorted. I'll let me mate Jim (red mk2 cortina) know too but I don't think he has an MOT... Might kick his arse into getting it sorted!

All the best for a speedy recovery. Hope it's not too long before it gets less painful for you- sounds nasty!
