v980, how long have they been around ?. how you meant to know these things, i always sorned once i recieved log book in my name

havent contacted them as yet as wanted to find out the score first, the date on the v5 that i accuired the car is correct 30th june because thats the date i put on the v5 when i bought it but im suspecting the person i bought it from didnt send it off straight away. couple of weeks perhaps, then by the time its been processed into my name then sent to me im guessing around 6 weeks will have passed, ive been fined after only 8 weeks

i recently bought a daily mk7 escort, it ran out of tax the day after i bought it (31 june 2013) , its been sat in my garage since as havent needed to use it, i went on holiday a month ago and hadnt still recieved the v5 back in my name, the previous owner must have been slow at posting it off, ive since returned from a months holiday to find ive recieved the v5 back but also dated 3 days ago that ive been fined for not sorning it, am i correct in thinking i cant sorn it until i have the v5 back in my name , at worse case senario i may have recieved the v5 a day or 2 after i went on holiday in which case within 3 weeks maybe 4 weeks they,ve fined me for not sorning it, does anyone know where ill stand with this, obviously i cant sorn it while ive been away and hadnt recieved the v5 back.

ive just bought a k reg escort/orion and its come with what i can only describe as an rs 4 spoke steering wheel on it, can someone tel me which car this might have come off, is it likely to be rs turbo or cossie ???

where this van was there was also a 2 door 1.3 L , another mk2 van, a 1300e mk1, and 2 other mk1 2 doors all about fooked, hes an escort enthusiast aswel , they were all his road cars and then parked them up to rot, and rot they certainly have , he has a mk2 gl 2 door and a mexico parked inside but niether have been used for 20yrs

im going thru same thing with a mk2 van, if i dont buy it i know it,ll just sit there and disintegrate, but when you consider initial price 1k then all panels it needs its just not viable, i can weld but never taken on anything as big a project, im in the same boat as you, i feel your pain brother lol

hes one of those guys that never sells anything, i was honoured to be even offered the van, the other van would be better for the back end, ill have a word with him but you know what some folk are like

well i went to look at it today, in true sods law fashion its lets say about fooked, no bulkhead left, no floors or sills left, bonnet disintergrated, plus side the shell was straight panel wise, original strut tops, rear load floor was good as were inner arches but such a shame its pretty much a breaker so ive walked away, he had another van in worse nick, a mk2 2 door saloon in as bad condition, and 3 mk1 2 doors that were as bad, such a waste

just been offered a mk2 van, ex aa patrol, 2 owners, been stood around ten yrs, needs cills (provided) back door (provided) some welding to bulkhead, but a complete van, all original panels, original strut tops etc not plated,not battered around inside the back, all straight,still in its original paint but needs re painting, wings arches quarters good etc etc , obviously will need restoring i.e welding and paintwork, what kinda value would you guys put it at, the guy reckons it was a special order vehicle, could this be true ?????, it also needs a bonnet, are they mk1 or mk2 bonnets on these, also he said door bottoms are tatty, can you get repair panels for these or is it a full door ,

did anyone notice the finished car the front wheels werent sitting right in the arches, they were more rearward towards the inner arch, ive noticed this on a few mk1,s before, anyone know what causes this, i reckon they get the buyer to make out they,ve paid mikes askin price ish when really i reckon they,ll lose money on a lot of cars, but just for the cameras pretend he,s made money, it looked ok but surely to god wasnt worth 11+k ed mostly seems to know what he,s talking about but brewer is totally full of sh*t

they're looking for a standard Escort MK1 with slight modifications that are similar to the ones they've done to their own car. They're not looking for a complete Mexico / RS replica look, but more of a halfway house refurbishment with spots but no decals + minor mods and in top condition.

That was a long time ago and their budget back then was only £1000, what were they supposed to do? It's simple folks, if you like the show, and want a chance for your car to be featured, then please post it up. If not, that's fine too but start another thread to debate it please. soz

my next door neighbour has a k reg orion/escort ghia, its just an every day car to him, but my beady eye spotted today it has a 4 spoke rs steering wheel on it, im gonna try get him a standard wheel n give him a bit of cash to swap, my question is does anyone know anything about these, ive searched ebay and cant see another one like it, it looks like an rs 1600i one but his has like rs logo written behind the horn centre peice, it has it written on the horn but also around the edge around the perimiter of the horn so to speak, i cant seem to find one the same anywhere on ebay or other net sites, has any one got a clue about these as id like to fit it to my mk2 escort

yeah thats it decor, just read up on it they only made them for one yr, quite rare apparantly, think i may have just let it go to cheaply

to be honest it needs nothing for mot apart from a pair of wipers, im thinkin with it been solid and original (it dont appear to have had any welding which must be rare ) it just needs the bodywork sorting and thats only because its dented and scratched, theres no holes on the body at all , he,s asking £750 and dont really seem to want to budge from that, ive got 1st refusal on it and know others are queing up behind me sniffing at it hence my urgency, im just thinkin if i decide to move it on i dont wanna lose out from my costs as its costing £50 to get it recovered home so it,ll stand me at £800 in total, there is another 1.6 pinto with it and some other spares

ive just been offered a mk3 1.6L (boot badge says delor i think) been dry stored for many yrs, the second owner stored it and its just come to light, its now sat outside, its extremely solid underneath, and looks all original floors cills etc, its mechanically sound with new brakes and brake pipes, it runs and drives, but no tax or mot, its a m reg 73 and its the normal dash (non slopey clocks) the interior is original but a tear to the drivers seat and small tear in the back seat, the downfall is the body work, it looks original with metal wings and all solid but theres quite a lot of dings n scrapes, the doors are out of line and has had some filler work, but id say filled from damage and not rot, theres surface rust in various places but definatly not rotten, so it needs a full resto on the bodywork, the car is standard looking, can someone give me a roughish guide to what i should expect to pay, im torn between buyin it to sell on and make a small bit of pocket money or im also tempted to keep it and sort the body out, thanks for anyones help

mines insured but not taxed, does it still now have to be sorned, if i have a car not insured taxed or mot,d what do i need to do with that, just sorn it ?
