I dont think anybody pointed this out yet but if you are trying to weld aluminium make sure your mig welder has an A/c setting as you need that type of current to weld. You want to preheat the area first clean it with a stainless steel brush and if it apiece that has thick and thin parts of metal fairly close to each other you may want to post heat aswell to avoid cracking. Get your self some scrap aluminium to practice on as you will see that when you weld aluminium you have to travel at a greater speed than you do when weldind carbon steel or stainless. As far as Security how bout this........ I had an Uncle who had a capri that got a lot of attention spent most his time putting new collars and ignition barrels in it. After scumbags tried to steal it. He got a piece of plywood 12"x12" hammered 3inch nails through it and stuck it under a cheap seat cover......... Worked really well as I remember the BLOOD and nice big DENT in the roof!.......... Just dont forget to take it out before ya jump in........

Hello all just joined picking up a MK2 ghia x on thursday will post pics when I get it. Plan on sticking a 2.9 cossie in it with 5 speed box. Im from Ireland so trying to find an old 77 or 78 shell so I can use the paperwork on my slightly newer car to get it registered as a classic. Then I get to drive my new baby and pay hardly any road tax and its NCT [ like the MOT] excempt.... Why would you drive anything else?.
